Hi, since a majority of us use 3ds products I was wondering if any of you have en-counted the following problems I am having with my new pc.
1. After installing any 3ds-max product in 64bit mode, and then restarting (as you should do) I get this application error before 3ds begins to boot up. (This occurs within in Max 2010, 2011 and maya 2013)
2. After 10 minutes of running max 2010, 2011 in 32 bit mode, the view port glitches and sticks, terribly to the point where you cannot even make out what you are modelling any more.
To combat this problem, I have run both max 2010, and 11 in every single conceivable compatibility mode in windows 8.1 which hasn't had any effect at all.
I have by default played around with the graphics mode settings in max, direct x 9 and 10 give me the view port glitch problem where as in open gl mode max refuses to start up! (It just stays on the boot up window (starting 3ds max.......)
Software mode is not particularly helpful either, as max crashes and gives me an exception error every time I try and convert any object into an editable poly.
I know this cannot be a hard ware problem, because I can run Adobe after effects cs6 and photoshop cs6 in 64bit mode. I can also run Hitfilm vfx ultimate 2 in 64bit mode!
> Solutions I have tried, which inevitably have failed.
1. Tried restarting pc numerous times.
2. Tried uninstalling all autodesk software and tried to re-install
3. Thinking there maybe some traces left, I used revo pro uninstaller to remove any auto desk registry entries. After that I restarted and re-installed to no avail.
4. I have re-installed Direct x 9, 10 and 11. I have also re-installed my microsoft C++ Redistributable packs. 2005 x86 and 64 all the way to x86 x64 2012
5. Tried to install x86 C++ Packs first then tried to install the x64 bit version after. (In case there may have been a confused registry error)
6. I am not sure how to uninstall Net frame work 4 or 4.5 whichever one I have. I tried to re-install it. But it said "Your software is up to date, therefore there is no reason to install this package"
7. Tried taking hostage, bill gates in hope my laptop would give up it's distaste for me and start running max.
Incase you need to know here are my laptop specifications.
(I bought it January the 29th this year)
