Quote: --- Original message by: LuciTheAlienQuote: --- Original message by: Super FlankerQuote: --- Original message by: LuciTheAlienQuote: --- Original message by: Super FlankerQuote: --- Original message by: HyperAlexQuote: --- Original message by: LuciTheAlien So I just played The Introduction & Project Lawson and I'm appalled, not by the bad VA work, or the graphics being inconsistent but by the use of music from Mass Effect 2 & 3 and Beyond Good and Evil, it's really lame IMO. The reason he uses it is because he is a huge mass effect fan. That is really appauling. I thought better of you Matthew, you should be ashamed of yourself! NOW GO TO YOUR ROOM. Are you seriously saying that he couldn't do better than just ripping music from another series? Be sure to let me know when you have your own successful mini mod series up and running. This analogy works about as well as the, if you don't like this restaurant's food- cook your own. When something tastes like trash, you tend to spit it out- even if it was a free meal. For the record, I just barely played Takedown Intro. and Project Lawson, as well, and for a fan-made mod, I am absolutely blown away. I loved the music - granted, I haven't played either Mass Effect or Beyond Good and Evil before - and when combined with some of the epic battles in the final section, the one with dropships coming down everywhere, and Flood and Covenant battling all over the place with sentinels joining in above, I actually got chills. It was that good to me. It was a refreshingly different feeling than the regular Halo games, where you feel like the center of attention/the unstoppable hero. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's nice to have a change of pace. In this campaign, I felt like one cog in a big machine, or just one more combatant in a battle much bigger than myself. Very cool! There is something to be said for original music, but in this case, the borrowed music works quite well, in my opinion. Not looking to pick a fight here or anything, which is why I put the disclaimer that it is my opinion , which means that I'm not trying to force anyone to like what I like or dislike what I dislike. I just wanted to put in some positive feedback and congratulate Matt on a job well done! Everyone has their taste in things, and for me, this mod was awesome. (I am also a sucker for campaign mods. :p) The voice acting was not perfect, I admit, but it did the job and was definitely audible, which is more than can be said of many amateur/semi-pro VA jobs. I think Lawson's voice actor was spot on, and the recording of it sounded very clear. Also, many of the lines from wandering around the base talking to the soldiers made me laugh a lot, especially the ones from Storm. :) Anyway, I'm looking forward to Extermination parts 1 and 2, MattDratt! Don't leave us hanging for too long! :) Oh, and LuciTheAlien, when Super Flanker said, "Be sure to let me know when you have your own successful mini mod series up and running," I'm pretty sure he meant that he'd like to see you try your hand at making your own original mod before criticizing anyone else's mods too heavily. I don't think he was suggesting that you create your own version of this mod with different music, i.e. "cook your own food."

I honestly have no idea what he is referring to when he mentioned Beyond Good and Evil music because I've never played that game and I don't use any of it's music.

placeholder vo plz (dudes sending his lines this week... so he says) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxxtFuBO-GU&feature=youtu.be I have that issue with my custom H3 Pelican. The issue so far determined is I'm running Custom animations for the pelican. When I exit out of the bounding radius (which is set to the flag the pelican is teleported to before animation begins) it bumps me sometimes feet away or in other cases kilometers away. The only way around this so far has been to bump the bounding radius up to like 10,000 which is ridiculous (but hey it works). Anyone have any better suggestions? (and this wasnt happening on my old pelican I was using, which was also running custom animations)

I tried optimizing my physics and collision model, but I still got the same issue. Any guidance / answers would be very helpful!

So I'd rather not release my map in the worst year since 2007, Takedown Extermination Part 1 will be delayed into early 2017. Great stuff happening as it started to wrap up in prep for December. However seeing how much work just got done and how impressive it turned out, I just need a bit more time to keep this up.
Video in the coming weeks showing update.
tl;dr map was on track but screw it I want more features and shiny stuff

Oh I see, political stuff.
I'm glad there's no politics in Halo, imagine if Cpt. Keyes needed to run for reelection and all the controversies that would be dug up by his affair with Halsey. Politics make everything ugly.
Instead lets talk about Takedown, and how late into "early 2017" we have to wait.

For the pelican, why don't you place the flag closer to the spawn area? You won't need the bounding radius to stretch to the initial point of the animation if that initial point is where you're ending up.
Edit: didn't see where the default pelican did not have this issue. Pour through the tags and compare, specifically physics and vehicle seats.
I'd check the markers for the pelican's models and see how they compare to the default.
All of this I'm sure you've done already. Edited by DeadHamster on Dec 17, 2016 at 12:50 PM

Depends on how much people want to help me :D Right now big things include 1) BSP Modeling... yes, I'm STILL modeling bsp. If you think you can model some good Covenant geometry hit me up. I also still need 1-2 forerunner structures. I have general ideas that need to be hit but we can work together and I'll give you plenty of freedom so you can be creative as you want. There are also smaller modeling things that need to be done such as giving detail to cliffs or forerunner geometry. 2) BSP Cleanup. Finalizing textures and UVs, lighting the darn things, stuff like this. Michelle has been a boss and has done one BSP for me and may be willing to do more but hey, if people want to do this, please contact me

Hey thanks everyone for voting Takedown: Extermination the 2nd most anticipated project in the CE3 2016 Awards! You may be wondering... WHERE IS IT? Wasn't [part 1] suppose to be released in December? Yes but after beta feedback I'm going to wait until I at least have Part 2 fully playable. You gotta remember, for the most part, this is a solo project. I could use help modeling, texturing and UVing, lighting, and animating. I'm currently trying to finish up modeling the rest of the BSP which should hopefully happen soon. I've just been too busy in January and February to do anything but I should be back on track now.
