It's a plane or a box that is animated on the weapon in 3dsmax with the rec Applied. the animation is linked to the firing and weapon animations. You would need to remove the rec out of your hud. I would like to see someone make one a separate. jma or jmo that way we could simply compile. it in to our weapons. IambrokeRu Does some great work But I have not seen the pistol one before. There are a few ways to go about doing the moving crosshairs, each with their own drawbacks:
(1) Animated shader plane attached to animation states. (ImBrokeRU) (2) weapon_hud_interface manipulation of multilex overlays (Jesse)
Both don't turn red when aiming at enemies, and (2) tends to be a bit iffy as to when it shows up.

oh cool do you have a video of yours Jesse ? that is another great solution. but another problem with that is that the rec would not start smaller and get bigger while you shoot. and then get smaller again when your clip as almost done. I would think it would just cycle through some bitmaps.
Although a multiplex overlay seems to be an easyr method. because it can be made in photoshop. I would still recommend ImBrokeRU procedure &
I think I Know the solution to it Not turning red when aiming at enemies though.
That would be to use just the center part as regular part of the rec the red not movable part in the HUD that way it turns red.
And then the other part. The outside part as step 1.

I Think that Max would be the best Method in this procedure.

How is that perfectly buddy? Anyway it runs fine without that issue. Enable compatibility mode for windows 7 and check disable display scaling on high DPI settings. & run this program as admin. works like a charm. also take ownership of your data and tags directory & associate your tags extensions. You can also set a shotcut in your properties shortcut tab and click on advanced. and check Run this program as administrator
This option allows you to run this shortcut as an administrator, while protecting your computer from unauthorized activity

here something that will help it form kirby_422 In halo 1, to have a animated crosshair, you either have the moving parts as part of the FP model, or in the weapon HUD using the 'static elements'. With either of those options, it will not go red when hovering over an enemy by default.. If you make it part of the model, and use OS however, you can have a script that will look over the conditions, then apply data to the weapon, so that another function block can preform the color change necessary (Regardless, this is over the top). If your making it part of a HUD, it would be heat. And even if it was a model, the easiest function block setup would be heat anyways.

I don't think they need to be so thick & big but it works and that's so cool! great start! The sizing of the crosshairs elements can be adjusted, but it's a real pain. The expansion and contraction rates can easily be adjusted though, and this allows me to make the crosshairs accurately represent the error rate of the weapon while fired.
I'll color them in later, so no worries about that.

Low ammo flash is controlled in the weapon_hud_interface, but in the static elements section, and you'd be over complicating things if you used multilex.
