no im not insane.....
my idea was to port a ce map to pc as best i can with eschaton. anyone whos made the applications to port ce content to pc or trial will be useful in this situation.

so. i went into eschaton to rip appart a multiplayer map for halo pc. i had a crazy idea to import all the actors and info and everything (placements, spawn points, weapons, entire ai esencially...) into the non ai map . but its cross ce and pc, as well!

note: both maps have the same bsp, except one is pc without mods and one is ce with ai mods.

first i removed the scenario structure bsp and the sky, and the decals and a few extra dependencies from the ce map, so i can have it import just the essencial stuff.

then i recursivly extracted the modified scenario tag recursivly (minus the bsp sky decals etc)

and i imported it into the pc map.

it built successfully. however. i dont know how to tell the map to delete the original scenario and keep the second one, after i imput the sky and scenario bsp. it would be a good idea to make an app that can find the scenario tag and ask you which one to keep. any ideas?

I'm sure that TOOL only builds tha cache file using the scenario that you actually type in

yes. however i have a map with two scenarios. lol. i just need to be able to open up the map and switch the scenario. i tried swapping the meta, renaming the tag to a YYYY (none) tag, and all sorts of other things, however it keeps the original tag. if i could swap out the dependancies for the scenario tag it would work. i need to know about the structure of a .map file, and figure out what references the scenario.

Er, here's a question. Is there some sort of magical tool that can convert Halo trail mod maps into CE maps without having to completely re-do everything?
