Save the images as TIFF and put them somewhere in your data folder that is organized)like "data\halo3\icons\")

After that, use tool and use the "bitmaps" command using the command prompt.

In this case it would be: tool bitmaps halo3\icons
(you don't need to put data\, tool does that for you)

After you did that, bitmaps will appear in your tags folder the same path as in your data folder(tags\halo3\icons).

Open those bitmaps and do what Jackrabbit told you if you want them as main menu or something and recompile.
im going use some of them for mp map that I doing
icons r ico so how do you convert ico that in the download ^ and convert to bitmaps
is that command bitmaps halo3\icons I have not use or seein it befor
Thanks for your help o and well it work on os tool

It will work with OS Tool, but it won't make a difference.

The command itself is called bitmaps, the path would be halo3\icons.

I'm pretty sure you can open .ico in a photo-editing program and save it as TIFF.

Thanks for your help

geting set up and runnign in a development enviorment is nto as easy as it use to be.
if your on a 64 bit version of windows you may need to change the address of your data folder in tool++
file /options/halo directory
change from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\
to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\
make sure you have a copy of cmd in your halo directory also.
I would sugjest you make a folder called bitmaps in your halo3\icons folder as well
halo3\icons\bitmaps
put them in there.
I would learn how to make simple bitmaps before you start making more advanced types.
you will deffenetly need to take some maping tutorials and try and follow along with them to create your owen map just go for something smal and simple first like a box map. till you grasp the process. trust me its the best way to learn.

the command will work in os tool as well
I use hek+ plugin tool ex set up to use os tool insted of plan ostool or tool++
its not realy easy to explane you wont learn much on these forums although there is alot of info for you to grasp it and understand it better I sugjest takeing the tutorilals

And I dont even recomend anyone post untill they read the HEK Turorial that came with hek!

making a map on here is not something done in a day.
it's one hell of a hobby! it takes alot of dedication practice and skill and it's not for a person who cant convert simple bitmaps from ico to bmp. or bmp to tif or jpg to gif.
there are litterly a millian diffrent programs that will work with most of these verry basic image file formats.
