Players on foot who're wielding snipers are INSANELY hard to find and screw with gameplay balance.
Plus, the jets' rockets don't trace, so (even if that makes it more fun) that makes dogfights a lot harder and longer... plus they don't look like they belong in Halo...

but those're my only complaints; otherwise, I actually kinda like Coldsnap, especially with the unique physics for the Pelican and Ghost. :D

People using the rocket launcher to lazily farm kills past the render distance clipping.
PoQ servers' SIX+ year old banlist.

That's all, everything else about it is super fun

Things I Dislike about Coldsnap:
- Longsword blocking all red players spawn points (Intended for trolling) (Gives blue team a chance to win when all reds are killed and cannot respawn if vehicle respawn is 5 minutes or never.)
- Lack of weapons
- Spawn points in the middle when not playing a CTF GAMETYPE.

Jet missiles don't home in, and the Jets should be faster :DD

Too boring. Map's too big and it's hard to get any decent action even in a full server.

It's a map too big for it's intended player count.
Don't get me wrong, I love huge maps but when you have a map so large the majority of the time spent ingame is just getting to the other side of the map, gameplay really suffers.
The weapons are unbalanced and some are super weapons while others are water guns.
Using ground vehicles is suicide with the jet and longsword pilots being only too happy to mess up your day.

•Snipers are exceedingly difficult to locate.
•Jet missiles don't lock on.
•Odd Pelican physics, weak armor, and minimal armaments render the vehicle practically useless.
•BSP is a bit low-poly, but I understand that it's a large map, and that this was probably done to help reduce lag.
•The assault rifle you spawn with in some gametypes is useless for the typical style of engagement you will find yourself in.
•It's been a while since I've played, and I forget whether the rocket launcher performs similarly to the default launcher or similarly to the one on Extinction. If the former, it is generally insufficient for high-speed vehicular-based combat.
•There are a few structures scattered throughout the map, but no real reason to go to them. Perhaps if they were stocked with equipment and munitions, people would go to them more often.
•The Pelican landing pads are completely exposed. Perhaps if they were more like outposts, with some strategic defensive value, they would be of more use.

In spite of these things, Coldsnap followed closely behind Extinction as one of my favorite maps. Many hours were spent in it.

Never liked it's size. Coldsnap was just too big.
Takes ages to go somewhere away from base, and when I do, I get shot to death.

Sounds like you just suck. I had no problem killing snipers.. In fact, everyone spawned with snipers anyways.. Also, it's a snowstorm. Did you expect to find anyone in a snowstorm?

To answer the question regarding Coldsnap, I will repeat the phrase back

"What's not to like about Coldsnap"
Regardless of what belongs in halo and what doesn't belong, Coldsnap was a masterpiece. It did what all those Halo 2/3/Reach/4 maps couldn't do. It breathed new life into the modding community. Actually, if anything, Coldsnap was a pillar in the start of the golden age of Halo mods. Correct me if I'm wrong but around the same time, we got Snowgrove, Chronopolis, Rpg beta 5.. All those awesome maps

As for what belongs, your biggest gripe are the jets? What about the 19th century alarm clock that we were supposed to believe had a touchpad(the FP hands would touch it to start the timer) that's make an explosion rivaling the Big Bang anywhere you'd set it? Also, might I remind you that this is halo. The same game that's 500 years in the future but can't solidify a good prototype for a weapon. The MAC35 fired some kind of NATO rounds that not only do we already have, but we have rounds better than those now. Also, in the future, why did we feel the need to send our Spartans out there with armour abilities that can be used for all of 1 minute and recharge for all of 5 minutes? It feels like a kick to the face.

It's too big and i never played on it with more than 5 players
if there were 50 players on each team, it'll be interesting

plus the flags are on the end of those long planks
it's hard to walk those planks

the jets are fun and the giant exoarmored reel steel bots are different

It happens all the time

If everyone stayed at base, the game wouldn't end.

Since when did cold snap servers end? The host sets the time to like 299 minutes. By the time that thing hits 200, I've already found something else to do

It helps to stay above and behind an enemy Longsword while attacking, that way you can pull up at the first sign of a nuke. The more altitude you maintain, the better chances you have of avoiding the blast.

Even when I try to do that, it happens all the time! I wonder what the blast radius is on that damn thing xD

Just do like seven to ten flyovers with the Jet, firing both the machine gun and missiles at it for as much as you can.. It's not that hard to take them out once you get the hang of it P:

So you don't like Coldsnap because you suck, basically.

No, because I think the sniper thing is a legit gameplay problem instead of me sucking at it.
