Hi all! As you can see above, I am making (one of the millions out there) bloodgulch remake. So, the thing is that I can't figure out how to make the map more.... dark. The snow is too shiny and I don't know why... If someone knows how to solve this, I would really appreciate his help. Have a nice day all!

You need to upload your images to an imagehosting site, you can't just post the filepath on your computer. Try http://imgur.com or http://imageshack.usAlso if the map is too bright, you can open the .scenario tag (should be in levels\test\bloodgulch\) and change the sky. It's probably 'clear afternoon' but if you change the sky to like, the gephyrophobia sky and run lightmaps, it should get darker. To run lightmaps, open tool, type "tool lightmaps [directory]\[scenario name] [bspname] [quality] [RGB value]" If your scenario is in levels\test\bloodgulch\, the scenario is named 'newgulch' and the bsp is named 'bloodgulch2' you would type: tool lightmaps levels\test\bloodgulch\newgulch bloodgulch2 0 0.9 for quality it can be any value from 0 to 1. 1 is the highest quality and takes the longest, so I'd recomment running like 0.3 for now. RGB values tell the command when to stop. The lower the values the longer the lightmap command will run, and the better it will look. I'd recommend 0.7 for now. The epicness of the fail I have just witnessed cannot be fathomed by words. If I could just casually access your hard drive, I could get a lot of other information.

Alright I have tried changing the sky, but no luck. Then I tried the lightmaps thing. I set it to 0.3, still the same. The snow is still too damn bright! What the hell is wrong... Any other suggestions? This thing is ruining my whole map!

So not the right choice The brightness can be caused by the power of the illumination in the sky tag, or the bitmap you are using for the snow if it's a blended one, my desertbox map always looked very bright since I used a sunset like sky...

Allright, Tiel the shaders are fine, I am sure 100% for that but I will try to take a look... But it's probably what bourrin33 told me, the sky illumination. I will check this out.Let's hope this will fix it... Thanks a lot again guys!!

If the snow is too shiny, then it could be the reflection maps. Open your shader and scroll to the bottom, you'll see the reflection information. Set everything to 0 and where it shows a path to the bitmap "tags\levels\ect ect" or whatever remove that so the space is empty to save tag space and save. Now go into sapien and look, if it's still too bright, look in the shader for the illumination section. Set both colors to black and everything else to 0 and save. Check again. If it's still too bright, rip the stock UI and use the sky from that. Then open tool and type in (tool lightmaps "your map directory" 0 0.001) without the parenthesis. Check again and if it's still too bright, open the sky tag in guerilla Set color to 0.5\0.5\0.5 and power to 0.3. Save and redo lightmaps. Now check again. That's all i could possibly think of for fixing shiny shaders\shaders that are too bright. Let me know if you still need help after that.
Oh, and i'd like to apologize for the behavior of the more maturely impaired members of this community.
