I have just started using a Dualshock 3 to play Halo, and I noticed there was no controller vibration. I later found out that Halo 1 does not support controller vibration. Halo Custom Edition does not support it either which I found strange.

Is there a mod for Halo Custom Edition that enables controller vibration?

I'm sure it would be hard to make vibration listeners for every weapons in the game because halo PC no longer carries that data

but I don't see why we haven't got listeners that respond to the games player_set effects.... we know what those do so they really shouldn't be a problem

Third party controller mapping programs sometimes support rumble (vibrations) based on button input and scale-able by different stimuli (not by anything in the game unfortunately)

He means you can use Xpadder or something similar to assign buttons instead of doing it through the Halo controls. If you press/hold the firing button, the program will turn on the rumble feature. It might not work perfectly with weapons like the sniper rifle since you can potentially fire one shot, hold the trigger (the gun is not automatic so it won't shoot again) and it will still vibrate until you release the trigger. Play around with settings I guess.

I don't trust xpadder, ever since I got that, my controller shut down whenever it even wiggles a little

I get this quite a bit too but that's just because my controller is almost 3 years old and it needs a new connector due to wear and tear, maybe this is your problem? Or is it a problem that you have with only xpadder?

ever since I ran xpadder my controller shut down, but after te first few, then it just shut down from wiggles, and the controller is... I think 4 months old

also there is no wear and tear appearance on it, it looks just like it did when I got it, xpadder is a risky thing

BTW, hook your controller straight up to your computer.

Unless your external HUB is powered, don't rely on it for powering controllers, especially rumble capable ones

Use 3KW of sound for Halo, you should feel it.
