PLEASE i miss the good ol rp and pvp days in this game. How can we repopulate? Also everytime i setup a server it always says others can't join so how can I make a server others can join?

An amazing video made by several experienced users of this forum showing the capabilities and awesomeness of Halo CE, maps like: Mystic, SPv3, H3 Foundry, etc.

I don't think we can repopulate the game with it... but I have always wanted to see something like that, some amazing kind of Halo Custom Edition Trailer.

You can allow people to join your game by hitting start, typing "allow program through windows firewall" and hit enter. Once you've done that, locate halo, halo ce, halo trial, whatever, and check all of the boxes for it. Click okay and you're done.

People only play on servers that already have players in them.
People only play servers with less people if they have the custom map.
People only have the custom map if it's popular.
Most popular maps are huge, unbalanced, and no fun to play.
THEREFORE
The only maps that get played over and over again are garbage, which discourages players to play any custom maps in the first place. The only time I have had fun for more than four minutes playing a custom map is on the release day, when a horde of players download the map and actually populate a server. This is why (as far as I know,) SP maps get a whole lot more attention as the gameplay does not require the presence of other players in order to have fun.

Post them in good places where people will see it and be interested. Don't limit the video to just MP maps either, make sure to show the old wide spectrum of what Halo CE has to offer including SP, map making, and a great community.

trailers look good, soon as cmt spv3 is released, there should be a promo showing the old and new maps for a new trailer

I wish I knew how to make maps, but im sure it requires scripting, and that's my weakness. other than that im ace in creativity

It depends on what you're making. Multiplayer maps don't need ANY scripting unless you're doing something special (i.e. script for changing time from day to night)

I don't really see an excess of 'noobs' on this forum or in servers. If everyone is unwilling to welcome newcomers there's not much incentive for new players to a) play custom maps or b) make their own.

You want more players, right? Who cares if they're bad or not - it's more stuff to shoot at.

Rich coming from me, but I think what we need to do is instead of pumping out h3/whatever versions of stuff, or god forbid I say bloodgulch mods, but concentrate on either entirely custom content, or new things that push boundaries.

Take Lumoria for example - some like it and some hate it.

Those who like it should take note of what they think it did right and make their own content, improving what they can in the process

Those who hate it should take note of what they dislike about it and make their work worth playing.

The same can be applied to multiplayer too, but in the end, if you make something good enough, it will get recognition. I mean, h3 foundry got onto halofollower - I mean, it's a start, isn't it? Something to turn heads?
