We don't know if it's bootcamp, plus this is the only thread with the games actual title. So yeah.

I think the way you'd play will be the same as League of Legends or any other top down action game.

No classic RTS strategic planning or micro-management.

Halo Wars is like the flatchested woman of the RTS genre.

..that is, of course, if you like boobs. If not, I don't know what to do with you.

My point is, when you stack up HW to any other full-fledged strategy game you're going to notice a certain dearth of content between the two. It'd be cool if MS contracted out the game to Relic Entertainment and they made a PC-exclusive, content rich RTS, but somehow I doubt that's likely anytime soon.

Well, you see, here's why I don't care about it being the "flat chested woman" of RTS games:

It's hella fun.

Maybe they could simply make it a "Ages of Empires" clone, with Halo stuff.

Lol, you mean that isn't what Halo Wars is? Sorry, I haven't actually played it, but the guys behind AOE, Ensemble, were the creators of HW. Their last project before M$ dissolved the company, in fact, if memory serves.

It's similar but it's not the same. There are some significant differences.

The lack of dedicated building units, Squads rather than individual units, having a main base area instead of free build, the list goes on.

Wasn't bad for an RTS, It just wasn't as detailed as one, and I drop that all on the fact it was console only.

To be honest, I'm not excited for this. The best thing about the Halo series is the mystery behind it; with 343i searching for new ways to "bring out the story", it kills the mystery and gives us nothing to look forward to.

There is no mystery, actually.

There's none.

They killed it in Halo 3.

There is no mystery to solve.

~A poem by Tiel about his hate for Forerunner-centric plots where every twist and event can be seen a mile away.

It was intended to be the end of the story anyway.

After they finished the game, Bungie didn't make any games that were set after the ending of Halo 3. They could have made their version of Halo 4 instead of Reach.

I'm glad I got a Windows phone, because this would probably be my favorite phone game. As for Halo Wars, I stopped playing it when I discovered Halo RTS mods for the PC.

I play Covenant at War and Campaign Commander for Star Wars Empire at War. I'm waiting for CaW to release its take on ground combat and vice versa (since Empire at War is both ground and space) to see which I want to stick with. Many people like both of them (on Moddb, CaW has an overall 92% rating, and Campaign Commander has a 95% overall rating).

I will admit, vanilla EAW is not good at all unmodded, and vanilla FoC is ok, I mostly play it modded (Republic at War, Legacy era mod, and my personal favorite, Thrawn's Revenge. Still looking for a mod the covers the Galactic Civil War). The only thing that makes me want to play is the mixed ground/space battles, as well as Galactic Conquest. But, I digress.

Both mods have both factions implemented (plus, CaW has a Flood Faction in the works). You maybe thinking of the third EAW mod, Halo: First Offensive, which has the UNSC implemented, but, the Covenant still uses some Imperial units and space station. It doesn't help that it is abandoned.

Also, the team working on CaW is a subsidiary of the team working on the Sins of a Solar Empire mod, Sins of the Prophets (which some like better than CaW).

Here are links to both Campaign Commander and Covenant at War:

http://www.moddb.com/mods/halo-campaign-commander2

http://www.moddb.com/mods/halo-covenant-at-war

As of now, it is best to use them in conjunction with each other, until both release the missing aspects of the game (CaW for space, CC for land). Both are for FoC, if you would want to try them. I forgot to mention that CC does use a few place holder buildings, but, nothing immersion-breaking. CaW uses Star Wars music as a placeholder until it's soundtrack is done, so, muting the music is advised for that one. CC also has one Halo themed map (PM me iff you want to know where to find it in the game. I don't want to feel like we're hijacking this thread).

The Halo community needs to stop comparing this to a Halo game, but rather look at it as a tablet game, which it technically is. For a TABLET game, it seems to hold your attention for more than 45 seconds and actually looks fun to play. I'm definitely not going to go out and buy Win 8 or a Win 8 phone for it, though. I mean, look at all these Halo modders we have. It's only a matter of time before somebody reverse-engineers the game and ports it to Windows 7.

Unfortunately for me I have Winders 8; and I made a dumb move last night by "refreshing" my PC, which deletes all programs and stuff that doesn't come with windows, but keeps all your files. So now, I've got to reinstall CE, max and all that stuff. Thank god I made backups of my OS a week ago.

Lol, always a good idea to have a backup drive in case of that stuff.

btw Hiralis, how many aliases do you even have? :l

Technically, this is my fourth account. My original, stuck up noob account "Hiralis" was banned, then I became "Private Caboose". After that, I became "TheHiralis", and I then gave Altheros the password to the Private Caboose account as he wanted to "try again". He didn't, he just trolled. He then hacked my TheHiralis account. My Storm account was made in between Private Caboose and TheHiralis has a "backup" account. When Altheros hacked "TheHiralis", I asked Dennis to ban the account. I then reverted to using this account.

TL;DR 4.
