maybe if halo4follower actually made his own content, i would respect this. All he does is take clips and other peoples content and throw them into videos....I could have made a channel doing that, anyone could have.

because he is given consent for those clips; people ask/say he could put them into a video. he didn't make the channel to make his own videos, he made it to keep people updated on halo 4 news when they have no other source, while at the same time putting the sources in the description. if you think you would succeed doing that, then do it. crying about someone being more successful than you does nothing.

He only has that many views by speculating about Halo 4. To be honest, people like The Halo Forge Epidemic deserve more attention, as they focus on custom content, not speculation.

Yeah i mean surly instead of another stupid forge world map (seriously there not that impressive) he could talk about CE especially when most of the e=comments about things people want are scarabs, UNSC flying vehicles, AI in forge thats literally a brief description of CE

also considering all of this i cannot imagine it not giving a significant boost to the commmunity imagine a world where servers had people in them seriously there are far more servers with 0 people in them then servers with anyone

Well yes there is various sources NOW but originally only a couple of months after the very first trailer in 2011 there were rumors from various site but reallistically it was hard to find anything with out wasting hours basically what he was doing was finding and compiling all of those sources so you didn't have to.
Also a lot of his videos are his own content

Well if I said the "team behind foundry" people wouldn't know what I was talking about. Wasn't there a foundry remake before this one? Err.. Anyways
And I like THFE. He featured my work a while back. H4F takes everything Halo-related though, which is why I like him.

tell me other sources that existed before 2011. not only that, but people could easily find his channel with barely any searching, getting the news quick and easy without hard-searching for leaks, hints, images, etc

lol there WAS NO OTHER NEWS. Everything in his videos was the same rumors you heard everywhere else. Other sources:
Halo waypoint forums
Every other xbox forum in existance
News sites such as kotaku
Word of mouth
Etc etc.

you're still getting mad over nothing, and you provided 4 sources. that's barely enough to get mad over a single youtube account that has no effect on you whatsoever.

Networking like a good friend = end up getting more views.
Networking like a spammer = end up as obscure as halomaps.

To be honest, that's not a bad idea. I'll message H4F about Halo Custom edition and get him to do reviews on Halo Custom Edition and to publicise the game. This could be a good thing as he could generate revenue for Dennis and reignite the amazing game that CE is. Except for it's crappy netcoding :/

I just love how you are getting so worked up over a single youtube channel when there are tons doing exactly what you are describing.
also, h4f states whether screenshots are confirmed or not, so I don't see how your comparison works.

about it not being a source of original content. Since when has a news channel made its own content? a tabloid channel?

It's like parroting TV tropes and TV insults while claiming you don't watch TV, when the claim that you don't watch TV is the actual lie(and strongly, at that)

And I've talked to Chris, aka Halo4Follower, and he said he'll "see what he can do" to help us out .

until more is released about halo bootcam or halo 5 all he can do is halo 4 forge maps and they just aren't as good as reach and he never reviews ones that look fun besides the mods

and its not like its hard to play the game for ten minutes record with a hyper cam then do commentary like i'd appreciate him doing it but its not that hardest thing in the world

if he can reel in new members, perhaps hostilities can be dropped and the community can receive a fresh start but unlikely

Reeling in new members is probably not going to help.

The best that could probably do is expand the member list.
