Who here has an SSD and has Halo CE installed? I'd just like to know how it performs and such. Other games are welcome to mention as well. I may get a Samsung 840 Pro 128 GB for my Operation System and most used programs\games.
I mostly need a second storage solution, so I decided to get an SSD as my primary, and keep me 1.5 TB HDD as my storage. I record lots of FRAPS videos, and the HDD lag times has a significant impact on my recording.
Today I connected a PS3 80GB HDD into my PC using the SATA cables, but at 5400 RPMs, it's not fast enough even as a dedicated FRAPS directory. My framerate drops to around 30 (even though I can\do record at 60), and I can tell it's actually worse for recording than my main HDD (7200 RPMs.) Edited by Jesse on May 21, 2013 at 01:46 AM

Yeah, an SSD's useful for loading times mostly.
It's also helpful if you do a lot of reckless browsing and have to do regular scans as a result. An SSD pretty much voids the lag caused by scanning.

SSD increases your fps when recording under your ssd, with the game installed somewhere else other than the SSD. I have a Samsung 250gb (non-pro), got it 2 days ago. Edited by XlzQwerty1 on May 21, 2013 at 05:55 PM
