when i click "M'' (button to start recording) it crashes i get gathering data exception

Are you using Open Sauce 3.1.
If so, The RA program doesn't work with OS 3.1.
It works on 3.0.3 so downgrade

is there a simple uninstall button? because i just wanted to play around with animation recorder i didn't really need it that much so if i have to re install halo screw that

What is this animation recorder

You uninstall it the same way you installed it; you rename the strings.dll (This time, its the RA one), and then you toss the old strings.dll (strings_orig.dll or whatever it was it had you rename it too) as your strings.dll.


A Strings.dll that allows you to create Recorded Animations (What bungie did for all the dropships in Halo1.) It records your button inputs, and can then be added to a scenario file, then played on any unit of your choice. So, you can drive a warthog through a narrow canyon, then play that recording on the warthog with a script.

It also includes options to lock your bipeds direction so you can aim around without effecting your walking direction. So, you aim where you want to walk, hit the X key, then just hold the forward key while looking around shooting things and you'll end up at your destination. Similarly, if you want to enter the Alert seat (walking slowly) hit the C key.

It does have a few compatibility issues however, like you cannot host a server with it, or else other players wont be able to move, etc. and the OS 3.1.0 stuff.

Control Panel, and depending on what version of Windows and what categorizing system you have turned on for the control panel, find something labeled 'uninstall programs', or 'programs and features'. Find OpenSauce in the list, and click uninstall.

I had no idea about the "x" key.....

or you can just rename the d3d9.dll or in 3.1's case: the dinput8.dll in the halo custom editon folder
