Hey everyone I noticed that when hosting a server with SAPP and running OS 3.1 I can't join any server that has the same map that I'm hosting with SAPP. So for example if SAPP is running Bloodgulch and I try to join my server or another that is hosting Bloodguch I can't join. But when I am running OS 3.0 I don't have this problem. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks, Signed MC

Sounds like you're attempting to join using a modified bloodgulch.map. Try getting a clean copy to see if that solves it.

It doesn't matter what map I just used it as a example, This happens to me with every single map and I'm not sure why.
And I uninstalled and then reinstalled halo, OS and SAPP no changes Edited by klasher1000 on Mar 19, 2013 at 11:59 AM

Hum... I have the same problem. I was actually going to do a new thread about it :P
When I try to play in my server while running OS 3.1 it says: "Unable to join the game server!" And I tried to reinstall everything and remove other unnecesary programs that could be interfering and I got nothing.

try running sapp on a separate instance of halo. for example copy the halo custom edition folder after installing os then run sapp on one and play on the other.

Yes, that is exactly what I did. The problem with that is I don't have OS 3.1 enhancements when I play in my server...

I took a very quick look at this and it's not specific to a SAPP/OS 3.1 combination. I could be mistaken as I don't have the time to pinpoint the exact cause but it seems to be a problem with how OS 3.1 opens map files when joining a game. If another process (your local dedicated server in this case) already has a handle to that map file open, it'll fail to join the game. Forcibly closing the handle seems to solve the problem, although you have to create a local game first and then back out, possibly to reset some kind of error flag. Submit this as a bug report here if you want them to check it out. Edited by Btcc22 on Mar 21, 2013 at 04:58 AM
