how do you make a gunship that shoots and flies at the same time, currently it can shoot, but it does not move.

Have the dropship run a custom or recorded animation.

Custom animations are animations exported from 3ds Max that run the same path every time regardless of any obstacles in the way.

Recorded animations are recorded from driving the vehicle ingame and run the actual commands (forward, turn, go down, etc). If done incorrectly, it could cause issues from colliding with walls, etc.

just to add onto moooseguy's post
If you want to have it run an animation from 3ds max, just load up the pelican gbxmodel, animate it, then export it as a .jmw (might need ctrlaltdestroy's animation exporter for this, but it's on this site)

there's also an app on the site that lets you record animations or so I hear. I've never used it before.

^Not the pelican gbxmodel, but the c_dropship. Killer wants the covenant dropship flying around the level.

You can set up the dropship to fly similar to how an Elite pilots a banshee. Simply by copying the parameters of the banshee pilot actor. You're gonna need to load up the driver seat with a pilot. I'd also change settings in the actor tag so the pilot chooses to stay a good distance away from the enemy, and I would also use very few firing positions around the map, so the pilot doesn't act like a wack job. Make sure you set the encounters state to "guarding at guard position". This will make it so the pilot will always move to the firing positions you placed.

what character are you using to make fly the covie ship?, if the character cannot enter its because it does not have the proper driver seat animations. go into the vehicle tag in guerilla and change the seat label under seats to either W-driver or G-driver.

actually the elites do not have a dropship animation if i remember correctly. bungie actually made an empty actor variant to put in the dropship and then used recorded animations to make it fly around
