They are under the assumtion that, leeking assets and tags will make them popular. But in effect your actually reversing our evolution, haven't you thought about future prospective elite mappers who may happen to tread upon this thread and read all the garbage? What if they conclude sharing works of there own with people who they think they can trust may lead to yet another leek outbreak? Another point which you haven't considered either would be the level of beta testing that goes on around sites like this, it may become increasingly hard to find people of a trust worthy caliber, therefore the time it takes between each beta will inevitably lengthen leading to longer and longer release dates.
