It's the FOV, not the origins.

Yea, it's the F.O.V. I prefer to play at 90 instead of 70.
Gameplay video coming soon, with updated biped shaders and more!

The way that Visors in the halo universe work is by polarization. It's something we have irl right now, except in a slightly less viable form. The Visors are electrically controlled by the user, which is why in ODST, you can at times see the polarization being removed and thus being able to see the operator's face. As we have it now, it's a thin laminate type film that you put over any sort of transparent or semi-transparent surface, and you will be able to see out one end, but not through the other

Science at work Is that how motorcycle helmet visors work (without the electronic control)?

Science at work another interesting thing about the polarization film is that if you take 2 polarized lenses and turn one perpendicular to the other, neither can be seen through on either side. magic~ I still like the idea of an oculus rift-esque HUD inside a heavily armoured helmet, ala Deus Ex Human Revolution. The whole reason they have the ability to see is because of those two little slits in the front. Since the units are heavily augmented, they have HUDs inset into their irises and they have virtual enviroments being built into the helmet. Another prime example of this usage would be with the Reach GUNGNIR helmet
