Okay so I started work on these about a week ago out of boredom and I think they turned out better than I had expected. They are meant to replace the original grunt textures to allow a much more appealing look up close than the original grunt textures, while still keeping the same feel. Given that a lot of people use the original classic grunts, I thought it would be cool to try to breathe some new life into them for everyone. Hope you guys like them.

It is a relatively simple retex, so I didn't think posting pictures is an order. I include the bitmaps aswell as TIF files so you can view pictures of the actual textures if you download them.

Feel free to use them however you like, just replace the old grunt bitmaps with these and you'll be good to go. Just make a backup of the old bitmaps if you want to keep the old bitmaps. You can edit the TIFs and recompile the bitmaps if you want to try adding to these. Hell, I encourage adding your own flares to these textures! I don't really care about credit, because these textures were originally made by bungie.

As a restatement, inside are the bitmaps, some quick normal maps I whipped up, and the data files which can also be viewed as pictures which I encourage you to look at before you decide whether to use them or not.

EDIT: If you want to see more of the detail on the textures, disable the detail maps on the shader models for the grunts. Also there's a bug with the tank of the shellback grunt perm, so for those use the original head and back texture or disable the permutation

pics are in the file, in the folder that says bitmaps there's a picture of every texture.

I guess I could do some others. Just figured grunts were the most crucial because a lot of modders still use the h1 grunts in their mods, whereas the h2 elites by delta4907 or cmt's elites seem to be more popular choices for most modders. I don't see any harm in doing jackals and elites anyway though.
