Here are some cubemaps.

There are about 150 in this folder, if you want to preview them and or adjust them.

The ghost is using #437

Also here is an action for cs5 that will convert a regular style horizontal cross environment map to a halo style one, ready for compiling.

OMG,I have waiting for cubemaps for so long.
Why didn't you put the 150 maps into one archive?

are these reach cubemaps? I can't say I am particularly excited; they are very simplistic given what they are, and I was kind of hoping for things similar to the Plasma Rifle cubemap in halo: reach(because it's a complex cubemap and looks good on almost anything). regardless, good job!

No they are not reach, nor did i make them.
They are presets from some program, that are designed to be adjusted, blended to your needs

Very interesting ! It's a good method to creat some cubemaps for custom models.

A cubemap library.....just what I needed! Thanks a bunch! Recently I started creating my own cubemaps and quickly found out it's not simple creating a good looking cube map.

I like to describe them as TV static pixels arranged in random positions on each face of the cubemap.

Because that is what you want to see.
The 2nd picture i posted in this thread looks like random tv static to you? maybe you should screencap your tv static and make some cubemaps, because my tv static is boring compared to how yours must be.

It's a basic description of what it looks like to me.
I am not talking about your 2nd picture.
I sorted through all the cubemaps that you have provided,disposing anything that wouldn't be useful (found a lot of cubemaps that didn't have much except for white,black and gray pixels)
By the time I was done,I had less half of the 100 or so cubemaps left.

According to what you had said in another thread,they're just presets for a cubemap creator.
No need to get irritated by someone's opinion.

this one was the cubemap used on the masterchief model that altheros thought was ugly; it was an attempt at making something akin to the current visor cube, but I gave up on it early.

this one is a really blurry interior cubemap, for things like A10's props.

this was an attempt at the pistol's cube, but again I gave up on it.

same, with nicer end results.

modified armor cubemap.

modified black elite armor cubemap.

random colored dots, blurred and streaked.

metal-ish cube.

more random metal cube.

nicer looking metal cube.

streaked dots.

heavily modified plasma rifle cube; I wanted to get away from the blobs and make it look more like highlights. produces really nice end results.

Nice job with the editing there.

Indeed, but you still seem to have pinching at the poles in most of those.
