The one in technical forum was a flop and not many people would see it so I brought it over the the general discussion.

First off, everyone's favorite: PICTURES!



Jetpack ability and Plasma Repeater.


Reach Elites.


Reach Energy Sword.


Focus Rifle (Needs to be textured... still. T.T)


Plasma Launcher (Needs texturing...)

Regarding the tagset... I don't see why we shouldn't rip or use pre-released tags of other people. It's all in the same cause to bring Reach to CE and it'd just be a waste of effort (or saving of it) if we didn't use them.
Proper credit will be given (words to live by), and if for some reason we didn't include the original maker, we could simply be contacted to ensure credit is given. (This includes Bungie by the way :P)

TEAM ROSTER:
HaloExtreme117 (Overall project management, scripting, tagset management)
G_Maverick (Single-Player mapping)
Private Caboose (BSP modelling)
aLTis (Sounds and vehicle models)
Skidrow925 (Animating, weapon and BSP modelling)
Spartan 314 (Animations, rigging)

ODST_Nick had offered to do some BSP modelling as well.

THIS IS NOT JUST COPYING REACH AND PASTING TO CE.
This is a project that is inspired by Reach to build levels of our own where people can enjoy Reach flavors in Custom Edition.

More to come on that elite by myself in a week's time or so.

btw, you're not remaking the reach campaign are you guys?? Fully custom campaign would be great.

dem are some cool shaders on dem elites.

And it begins. Got any BSPs done? There is not really any point of showing ripped assets, considering we could just see them in Reach.

I'm going to take that as a compliment to the team, since most of those pics are not of ripped content.

The Plasma Launcher, Focus Rifle, Energy Sword, Jetpack and Plasma Repeater are not ripped, to name a few.

Hey Spartan, is the Focus Rifle UVd?
It'd be great texture practice to me.
I can try UVing it btu I can prob texture it if you'd like to send it to me on the Xfire.

I don't see how that matters, since most of our content is custom. Anyways, with a full set of 16 spartan bipeds there isn't any lag at all, even on my laptop.

Looks really nice but you need to clean up the weapons appearance , lacking in the looks department just a little bit.

im starting to feel wierded out by CMT's elite anims. the 2-handed weapon anims to be exact.

well,i think we wont get any tag releases any time soon so, pics would be nice.

Pics are nice indeed, but a video is better.

Incase you weren't following the Biped WIP thread, I've got the Reach Elite ingame as a biped and it's even playable (to an extent).

also, try using PlasmaRifle_cube instead of reflection_diffuse, I think it would look better.

lol wrong sir, h2 and h3 state "color change/change color" in its bitmaps and shaders, CC is just an abbreviation of it.

And does no one actually know how to compile a cubemap? The Reach cubemaps are extractable you know?

and then 2 pages of argument.

regardless, it's a tad lazy to recolor the entire elite texture (especially evident when the elite's face and suit are completely blue) and the cubemap used looks a tad worse than the other cubemaps available.

It is using a cubemap. :/
Warthog reflection was too shiny so I swapped it out with a medium-gray one. It seemed alike with Reach's (or as close as I could get) so I kept that. I guess the cubemap doesn't really stand out. *shrug*

And the color change thing is killing me. I'm not a texture guy...

I've now got a rank system working using run-time integers.
Basically, at the moment, there are 10 different ranks, and twenty points between ranks. I'm going to run through it later and adjust that as needed for balancing, although my main worry right now is that twenty points between ranks may not be enough.
+2 Points are awarded for an enemy kill, -2 for a team kill. Again, this might be changed for balancing reasons, nothing is final yet.

Completing challenges will also award points, although I still need to implement this.

i'm not a fan of reach (<3 halo 4 tho) but this is pretty cool, reach had cool stuff/models but a crappy story. seeing this in halo 1 is awesome! btw, anniversary was amazing but it could've used a few more reach weapons IMO.
