She sounds british. She's Australian Their accents are pretty similar. Not exactly indistinguishable, though. Possible consequence of British people settling in Australia. there not even close because of all the different cultures in Australia there is a massive variation in accent from state to state and all most all are massively distinguishable from the poms unless of course your a american You lack an understanding of a thing called racial stereotypes. You have your stereotypical Aussie and your stereotypical Brit talking together. Chances are, those two will sound alike. You seem to associate all Americans (everybody living in the Americas) with what I'm guessing is ignorance. If all Americans are ignorant, then you should be an American. Edited by Dumb AI on Jul 27, 2013 at 10:24 AM aussies and brits don't even speak like that, lol these people need to see meet real aus and brits in person Do you need to add to this?

Me, being Australian, know that in nearly every sentence, we say the "f" word or some other swear word. Australians are known for their casual racism and swearing, if not their extremely nice manners. If I was to walk past an American on the street, they would just turn away and not say Hi, if I was to talk to an Aussie, I'd have a new mate. Everyone is your friend in Australia; even if we hate you, we'll call you "mate". I had to tone it down in the message earlier, because realistically, there would be a lot more words that aren't allowed on this forum in there. I'm Australian, I talk like that damn near every day. The only time I don't is when I'm communicating with people outside of Australia.

So.... many... stereotypes. Brain is... melting.... (SHEEP!)
Anyway, I'm just going to say: Cussing in the middle of conversations can not be excused by your culture. It is more indicative of your complete lack of manners than your country's tradition.(the 'tradition' that never made sense and was never official in the first place). I'm sure many Australians are very polite people.
All accents in fact sound similar from a loose perception. It is your own mind which manipulates your perception of those accents. If they sound quite different from what you are used to, you pick out all of the small differences and this can result in you percieving them as more different than they actually are.
To emphasise the first point, I will state now that I don't actually like sheep in any form whatsoever except dead and roasted despite being a Welshman /:

I personally found Lumoria to be fairly entertaining. Yes it has issues, and I feel some things should have been done differently. But for what it is, it works pretty well

Anyway, I'm just going to say: Cussing in the middle of conversations can not be excused by your culture. It is more indicative of your complete lack of manners than your country's tradition.(the 'tradition' that never made sense and was never official in the first place). I'm sure many Australians are very polite people. Hell yea we're polite! Especially anyone not from WA. And bud, it's swearing from an Aussies point of view :P and of course it can be excused by our culture. Some cultures don't drink alcohol at all, yet everyone says "yea, that's okay. That's how they were brought up." In Australia, when we talk and swear, it's not directed towards anyone. Example: I saw this sexy as f sheila earlier today. Now, that's typical Australian, or Queensland, language. We tend to use swear words to describe the situation with more expression. My english teacher even does it. Prior to watching Romeo and Juliet, she was explaining what the families relationships were. Her exact words: The Capulets are all very close and loving and have major roles in the play, as compared to the Montagues, who're minor characters and sh--. Instead of saying something like "etcetera", she said that. This is just typical Australians. Hell, if we see a foreigner at a pub, we're likely to buy them a drink and explain to them the Australian pub tradition of "shouting". TL;DR Australia is epic and "official" tradition don't mean jack to us. In the first World War, the egyptians distinguished us from the brits from our replies. An egyptian would say "who goes there?" and a british soldier would reply with their name and rank. An Australian would say "who the f said that?" and the Egyptian guard would let them pass as they knew it's an Australian.
