Hey guys, been a while since I've had Halo installed. I've had this issue before but it resolved itself mysteriously... Well i got a new Hard drive after mine crashed, and i re-installed custom edition, patched it to 1.09 but now, as before, i get this:

Halo - Fatal error
A problem occurred initializing DirectDraw. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG.

Like i said before this happened to me long ago but resolved itself...This computer is more than capable of running Halo, as i used to make levels in sapien and what not. I tried messing around with ATI catalyst to no avail. I even uninstalled catalyst lol. Should i uninstall directx and re-install it?

Sooo, any suggestions?

There are some programs which stop halo from opening, and there are more that either make halo crash or open minimized. If you want to run Halo, try shutting down unneeded programs running in the background in task manager, or maybe load it immediately after restarting
