Did you delete your registry? Because the game DOES check the registry on start to see you own the game. Run the game on the PC that you installed it on.

I haven't played halo for a month or 2. last thing i did was delete a bunch of maps from the map folder.

Assuming it is valid install then something hosed your registry. Either malware or a registry cleaner or another program installation. I suspect that you have other problems you are as of yet unaware.

use program called Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, because registry key that holds the product key is removed / messed up, and it might be work of malware. download it here, and Remember to upgrade it before using it http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4716-malwarebytes-anti-malware.htmledit1: use system recoveryEdited by afD2345 on Jun 13, 2012 at 11:46 AMEdited by afD2345 on Jun 13, 2012 at 11:46 AM

Just reinstall Halo and always have an up-to-date reliable antivirus program running. I generally use Norton.
