Yeah, just one last problem. I added some actor_variants in Sapien, added the starting points, firing positions, squads, etc. And saved and closed it. I reopened it to see if it worked, and Sapien crashed after openening.

Might want to get a better sound card I see. Run through the actor_varient tags in guerilla and look for red-lines. If none then go through sub-areas until you find them. That is what this looks like to me is a bad reference or corrupted tags. Eitherway they will still be red-lined in guerilla.

Other possibility is that you lack enough RAM (maybe?) but not likely.

Red-lines are your best bet.

Derp. Old sound card or lack of sound card. Doesn't affect performance beside no sound.

This just says where the error occurred and is generally useless to most people, myself included.

This tells me that something in "data" is screwed. The stuff about "tag instance index" just makes me think a tag is missing/corrupted.

The reference to sounce\memory\data methinks it might be RAM but not very likely.

It seems to me as if you deleted something from a palette in guerrilla, instead of deleting the instances... The debug will normally tell you that there is something wrong in halopc\halo...ect.

Open up your map in guerilla, pull down ALL the dropboxes (one by one).

If the program crashes when you pull one down... Then open the map again in guerrilla then you will need to go back to that drop box and click "delete all", this should solve the issue. This is the only way I know how to fix this problem.

Your thinking of this kind of error
EXCEPTION halt in \halopc\haloce\source\tag_files\tag_groups.c,#3157: #2 is not a valid scenario_vehicle_palette_block index in [#0,#1)

To the op, I think that error usually comes when a tag is corrupted, possibly the monitor animations, if you have one in there remove it,otherwise another tag is probably broken.
I just relised this was posted like, 2 weeks ago. ah well

Ah, yesh... I didn't read the first part, I just scanned my eyes over it.

What ai did you add? It would be easier for us to help that way, some animation or general tags you can get (such as the monitor animations megaguirus said) are a bit dodgy.

Yeah, I solved my problem a few days after posting this. I made custom AI tags for the map, but didn't give them definitions. Found this out after using Elite and Jackal tags that worked.

But thanks for trying to help. Now, I must solve another problem.

When I compile maps, and load them to test, they keep crashing, that's what shows up in debug after. I don't call that uselss.

You DO know haloce.exe doesn't dump to debug.txt right? In fact... I don't know if anyone knows where it dumps.

if you run HCE through terminal (not command prompt; you wouldn't want to do this on windows of course lol, who runs programs on the OS they where built for?), it reacts similar to tool with its output, so you could probably get the exception message like that. (I've never bothered crashing the game in linux, so I wouldn't know, but that would be the closest since it outputs just like tool. Even the cache compression when you quit lolwut)

just tried with cmd.exe and didn't get any dump that I could find. I will try with Terminal later. Where does it dump to? Terminal? Or does it create a dump cache?

I figured out why sapien closes, its because I changed something on the warthog tag and now I don't know what to set the warthog things to since I dont rememeber
