Hey, I'm trying to compile a map but it's 0.99M too large... I've already deleted like 90 % of the scenery and it is still the same size as before. Any Idea what I could delete to make the size smaller?

Remove it from the window thingy(the window where you can see all tags you imported.Or open it in Guerilla and remove the stuff from the palette.

-_- Be careful about what you're removing.Place all stuff you absolutely need back on the map.

sorry to hear that you just found out the hard way, that it is good to keep a backup of the maps files from the data and tags folders.

now that you mention that, i'm pretty sure i have a backup file :). And yeah, i'm always cautious about effin' with things in guerilla. Guess i just need to find another way to reduce the scenario's size. But I'd really love to know what i'd have to do to fix my map, I messed it up by going to guerilla, and deleting a few rocks from the scenery pallette... Now i just need to figure out how to put them back.

Still can't reduce the size of my maps... I make a whole map and its like 0.52M too large or some rediculously small amount :/ I still have no idea how to make the scenario's size smaller -.-

Gettin used to seeing this now:

cache file 17.57M too large (should be 128.00M but was 145.57M)
### FAILED TO BUILD CACHE FILE.

Others might not agree but as long as your Tag space is ok then Cache size isn't an issue. You will need to use Tool_Pro for it to compile. Now here's how it works: When you add a Table to your palette. It doesn't take more place to have 60 instances of this table so if you want to reduce tag size, remove stuff from your palettes or globals like weapons and vehicles you don't want. Those are the most consuming.

Alright, I'll try it, and as far as deleting things with guerilla goes, would i open my scenario in guerilla and delete vehicles from the vehicles pallette? because last time i did that with scenery palette i messed my map up... Sorry, I'm new to this and I'm still getting used to everything

So i would go to sapien, and delete say, all the ghosts and c gun turrets from the hierarchy window>units>vehicles. Then open up guerilla, load my scenario, and remove them from vehicle palette? Also, would I delete them from both the vehicle section and vehicle palette?
And what about tool++? I dont want to try tool pro because of the whole virus thing

Okay I'll try to do that lol, and this time I actually have multiple backups in case I screw it up. :P I'll figure it out eventually I hope

E: I went and deleted them off my scenario under VEHICLES, and then deleted them from the pallet, but guerilla immediately crashes, and the scenario wont load in sapien. Sorry if this is annoying lol, still trying to get used to the software. On another note though, would it be possible for me to compile it as an SP map?? would that allow me a larger tag size? I just wanna play the flippin' map, regardless of sp or mp :P

You might want to consider using some default Halo 1 tags. Fancier tags like CMT v2 things take up quite a bit of tag space.

As for the vehicle bug in guerilla, delete the vehicles that you've placed first, then delete them from the palette.

But again, consider using defult tags as that would free up a lot of tag space.

Yea, SP allows for a virtually unlimited tag limit. What you'll have to do though is delete all spawn points except for one and have its gametype set to none.

Would i have to delete the netgame flags too? and when you say set the game type to none did you mean for me to set single spawn point's gametype to none?

Yes, delete the net game flags as they are unused in an sp. And yes, set the spawn point's gametype to 'none' and the player will be able to spawn

If its a custom map you made with your own stuff, take like 2 or 3 textures and scale them down.
