Still doesn't ring a bell. I see nothing in my personal messages, but maybe you could link me to a public forum thread.

Recon, you going to retract your statement and perhaps be the bigger man make an apology?

Or just ignore me now I put you right?

You should be careful what you say on Xfire:

[1] Echo-77: Exactly, we're obscurificating our words so it looks like we're designing the map. :D

[14:02] [1] Echo-77: ...God forbid someone click the link, though, and compare the two... o.o

But, as we were saying, Recon and I will be holding another beta on the 12th, 8PM US Eastern Standard Time. Depending on the feedback we get in terms of weapons balancing and the overall layout of the level, we should be able to figure out where to go next in terms of weapon placement and barricades. We've also implemented smoke grenades, which could either be a good thing or incredibly annoying. We'll just have to see I guess.

Yeah, that's one thing I was kinda worried about. Does that entirely affect the smoke grenade tags, though? I believe it still obscured visibility with my particles turned off, but they may have been on Low.

I don't want to use flashbangs, because those would just get annoying, but we need another human-style grenade. Any suggestions, or should we stick with frags only?

A grenade that poisons and then slowly kills players hit by it. You could make it a flash + smoke grenade, with green smoke and green screen effect.

Ah, I dunno if a poison gas grenade would be a great thing to be throwing indoors with a bunch of teammates. But maybe a firebomb?

*adds to list of considerations*

It would, but it'd be a bit more direct than a cloud of poisonous fumes. Fire could be good for temporarily denying entrance through a doorway or corridor. But we also have the flamethrower, which might make an incendiary grenade a bit redundant...

There's this thing called the 'Banhammer'. You may have heard of it?

Or you could just set all light up as a particle so that anybody who does that won't be able to see at all, smoke or no smoke?

E: Oh and did you know that with OS you could have different bipeds on each team? Could be interesting, though I know it might limit the playerbase a little bit. Then again, I'm not sure those you're leaving out are amazing people anyway. *cough* Jerks *cough*

I dunno about the "light as particles" part. Some people can't really get around turning their particles off because of lag.

I'd heard about team-specific bipeds on OS, but neither Recon or I really have any experience in that area, and I don't particularly like its lack of support for Xfire.

I prefer Steam myself, though I do understand why you might use Xfire. It would be great if all xfire users could be moved over to Steam, or if Steam allowed you to access your Xfire friends list.

The firebomb grenade from Halo 3 would be very cool, and as for indoors, well simple, just be careful where you throw it lol. That's how it works in real life too pretty much lol, cause and effect, just don't be grenade happy around team mates.

It wouldn't be the firebomb from Halo 3 (I don't have a model for that), although it would perform similarly. It would probably share the same model as the fragmentation grenade, colored dark gray with a red stripe.

A friend told me that the reason you got upset in the first place is that my word choice made it sound like I was not crediting you for all of your hard work that went into making the base map. I apologize for my miscommunication, it was not intended. Your map is great and I would have not chosen to mod it at all if it wasn't.

That's the whole point. Your flashlight is going to be your best friend here.
