One of the best missions I've ever been through. It had a lot of strong points, like the dead space sounds added in the beginning, the large amount of flood used! A very long mission! To top all of that off, blowing up two ships in one mission! With two different explosion runs, one on foot, and the other in a warthog!
There was a smile on my face the whole time I played through it! I'm generally an emotionless person, so that's pretty hard to do! Had a lot of fun playing this map, and I plan to play it again soon!
There was only one weak point, and that was the fact that some of the flood didn't seem to die very easily (3 shots to the chest with a shotgun just to take down one in some instances) But that's not very bad.
When the map is available to download, I'm rating this a 10/10! That was great, and I'm looking forward to more of the NP mapping team's work! It's great stuff! Absolutely great!

This map looks interesting, however the bright flourescent lighting in the a10 bsps kinda kills the mood. I would seriously suggest relighting the bsps for a more dark and sinister feel. It would really help, considering the bsps are already cramped and you've got combat forms flitting around everywhere.
E: Just played it, got some more stuff to say.
First off, the horror parts were cool, music was great, and the sounds were nice. Seriously put more dark areas in, those were the best parts!
The elite combat forms don't really make sense as to why they are present (it was a human ship that crashed) but that's not too big of a deal. I noticed that it seemed to take a lot of bullets to kill them as well. 6 shots point blank range was the most. I would really suggest toning it down, especially the first encounter as you start to make your way to the last hangar.
I was also able to immediately break the level just by walking through the tents and into the teleporters below. Not sure if that's intended as part of the switch object hunt easter egg or you just didn't get around to blocking if off. Also, as you exit the door after choosing your weapon, the wall scenery immediately on your left is not collideable. I just walked right through it.
There were also a few typoes in the dialog. "defende the bomb" for one and one earlier one. Something along the lines of "where is now." I think it was one of the captain's lines.
Also, there is a fine line between cramped and cluttered level design, and I think some parts tend to stray onto the cluttered side. Most of it was fine, but in particular the encounter with the batteries could use some more free space to dodge the flood. I found myself blocked in and slowed down by having to navigate all the flood blobs. The hallways with the flood stuff were cool though. Definitely very linear, but it added a claustrophobic element to the area.
I also think your level would benefit from a light coating of green fog, just to emphasize the flood theme. I'm sure c10/c20 has some suitable tags you could use/modify to your needs.
Oh and one last thing, I somehow failed to trigger a trigger volume during the explosion sequence. When I retraced my steps it seemed to be placed right after you jump over the pipes. I guess I just jumped too far/not far enough but you might consider widening the volume so this doesn't happen to other players.

When I downloaded this map and tried putting it in my maps folder even before I did that it said that the file was corrupt can someone help me with this or another way I can download this? (Cool looking map by the way, I hope theres more extremely scary maps to come)

I just played through it a second time, and I found the "Big Secret" Easter egg. (AKA The UNSC Juke Box)
That was really cool. I liked that scatman song, the only problem was that I couldn't move during the easter egg... at all. I eventually had to restart a checkpoint because the song was replaying, and I realized that there was no way out of it. Pretty cool though.

hmmm, gave it a go and got to the captain was told to defend the bomb, killed the elites then hung about like an egit waiting on the next part, nothing happened, 15mins later and ended up doing console/quit. think a trigger isn't placed too well. goodluck tho. Great map.
Feedback:
I didn't die for the whole thing but i did cut it close a few times. The health of some of the flood is a bit high. And some of the encounters were a bit annoying because of this (the second time in the mess hall).
There is an extremely annoying bug in the map. The warthog cannot be flipped and you cannot get back in it if you fall out. I had to reload the checkpoint many times. Myabe use the default hog?
Assault rifle damage could go up a bit
At the beginning of the hog run, there is an explosion which blows up some debris. Either use two flags or move the existing one up on the z axis to make it look more realistic
So, really cool map, cool story. Loved it!
**Spoilers** In the final it would be good to show what happens to the Captain...good use of swear words btw

dis map iz... broken. im at the warthog run part at the end of the great infestation and once you enter the warthog, you know the bug. anyways try to make the warthog unflippable by the floods attacks, its what gets me every time at the beginning of it. plz fix Edited by theidiotthatknowsnothing on May 28, 2012 at 09:45 PM
