Just select one and it will start you at the point in the map. No need to play the whole map if all you want to do is play the gunner warthog part

I meant how did you make them work, not how do you use them. I can't see any way how without OS or having each point be a new map.


-Doesn't require OS
-Not a new map

Player starts on the map with no weapon. Each 'Rally Point' has it's own section in the script. So instead of the map just being one huge bulk of scripts, it's just split up into sections. I've been using this internally for development to skip around wherever I wanted, but Mooseguy made a nice UI so everyone can use it to skip around.

Once a section of a map's scripts finish, they load the next rally point anyway.

(script dormant rally_point_bravo
;blahblah
(wake rally_point_charlie)
)

(script startup rally_point_alpha
;blahblah
(wake rally_point_bravo)
)

To use skipping through the UI, it will load a special scripts

(script dormant cheat_to_bravo
;script stuff here that A. Selects Players Loadout; B. ect other stuff to catch the player up
(wake rally_point_bravo)

It only appears when you start up the game. If you really want to load it again mid-game; just restart the map

(map_name takedown_projectlawson)

;map loads

UI then appears

Select whatever. Play

Also good news. Remember the warthog gunner run shown in CE3 2011? Well I just set up a system that gives the hogrun three 'checkpoints'. Pretty much if for somewhatever reason out of my control the warthog crashes, the game will (eventually) realize this and without reverting to the last checkpoint (cause I figured it'd probably just crash again), the game will re-start the warthog run from the closest 'checkpoint' I made.

Map is 50% completed final (like 50% is final-well unless things change in beta). 3 Rally Points done. 3 to go.

Release is in Summer 2013. I'm trying to hit a certain date ;) I'm sure you all can guess what date that is.

If you played the beta and have a mic can you say a 1-liner about Takedown so I can put it into a vidoc?

I can also confirm that there will only be less than 2 .map files

The tone for Project Lawson is a complete 180 to The Introduction. TD:Intro was dark and mysterious. TD:PL is bright and not-so-mysterious lol but still some mysterys here and there

Also the map may not have to be split into 2 .maps after all.

After yanking on some of zteam's animations I found a lot of useless ones that I removed and it helped reduce a lot. Meaning I might not need an OS version after all. (Now be happy)

Takedown: Project Lawson is a single player map based off the an extended version of the Danger Canyon bsp, as well as some custom BSP. It features complete cinematics as well as a variety of gameplay situations. You (Karner) and your partner Kadar infiltrate a rouge Spartan's organization. This rouge spartan (Lawson) thinks you are joining his organization. As such you are sent on a mission with him. Get inside this forerunner structure and find what Lawson is so eager for inside. The estimated playtime for this map is about 30-50 minutes.

This will come in one handy download (takedown_projectlawson.map).

You will be able to download Takedown: Project Lawson from the Halo CE3 website on July 13th at 5:15pm EDT. The halomaps link will follow the next update after July 13th.
