i know that this probably will never happen because Microsoft is too afraid to try again after the failure of h2v but i am more interested to see who would like to see this happen. and if a flame war doesn't break out maybe a poll could be created and sent to Microsoft, i plan to post this at multiple other websites to see what kind of response it gets.

Microsoft should do it. The only and I emphasize this "ONLY" reason h2v failed was because it had to be played on the brand new vista OS. At the time, not many people had the new OS and many did not want it because, even according to Microsoft, performance for XP was much better than vista for graphical applications due to Vista's massive failure in coding. I think if they tried doing reach for PC, they might find they get more buyers than they would anticipate.

Actually, you can play Reach on PC, Or any other Xbox 360 game.
All you need: -Xbox 360 Emulator -A powerful system to play some games with intense graphics -Xbox 360 controller for PC -The game(s) .xbe (XBE is the extention that run on Xbox console(s), it is need to play on pc with an emulator.) -To get the .xbe you need to extract everything from the game disc, i.e: an iso file

Just use the same recipe used to make Halo 1 PC by Gearbox, and not try to do it like they did to Halo 2. Edited by Spartan314 on Mar 12, 2012 at 11:05 PM

It would be nice to see, but I'm sure it's not going to happen for two main reasons. First, for whatever reason, it's pretty much set in stone now that Halo is staying on the Xbox. Second, even if they would port another one to PC, let's not forget that Microsoft doesn't relly like modding so it most likely wouldn't have the tools that we have now.
I just can't understand why people think this will change just becasue they want it to. You can send all the polls and reqest you want to Microsoft, but it won't do any good.

1) Releasing multi platform doesn't really mean more profit though. You have to pay people to code it for that platform. If it was to fail like h2v then it would be bad for them because they lost money in the recode.
2) World of whackoff is not even $20 a month. why in gods name would they make a FPS $20 a month? Not even BF3 is $20 a month and it is much higher end than any halo game to date. Why would anyone play a game for even $15 a month? [sarcasm] Not to be taken as I am directing this at any certain huge gaming community! [sarcasm] *looks around* *smiles* ($180 a year?!?!?! I'm JUST... saying1 They are ROBBING you and you are just taking it!)
3) So you don't want to see it come to PC because YOU don't have the rig? So if you can't have it, no one can? Just wow.
4) F2p FPS games that have anything where real money can buy better than a free player's weapons, or what I would like to refer to here as "I am so noob but I have money so I win" weapons are the biggest failure in the true gaming world EVER! What a way to show you are a gamer troll by having a 1sk anywhere on the body smg or some BS like that that that these F2p game companies use to make money.

Oh god, don't talk about paying for F2P games. I've been enough for an idiot for rubbish like adventure quest when I was young. I mean, seriously, you have to be a member to go to this area? I hate things like that.
I don't really like F2Ps. They just get flooded with kids who randomly decided "I'ma play this cause it free". We need MMOs that actually run on your computer, not on your browser.
It is really frustrating.
Also, I agree with Tiel. Seriously, buy a 360 then buy the game then buy Xbox live, then buy a new map pack for ripoff price just to be able to stay in a server for longer than two hours. And don't forget that we already bought the internet used to play the Live with.
Five instances of purchase is way too much. Considering the price, like, seriously, who thinks this up? Playstation network has it right.

He and I will probably keep it to ourselves for a couple weeks and see if there are bugs, but other than that, if it's bug free, we'll probably charge $30 for it, but one problem: There wont be internet playing, unless he can find out how to do that to. First and foremost, I seriously doubt you know anyone who can actually accomplish this, second of all, if you do by some miracle manage to get this to work, I guarantee you that if anyone gets word of it who is involved with Microsoft, Bungie, or 343, you will have one hell of a lawsuit on your hands, you could be arrested, fined, and have all of your computer equipment confiscated and probably never seen again. ESPECIALLY if and your friend decide to charge money for it. But to be perfectly honest, I don't think your friend can come anywhere close to accomplishing this particular task. Somebody could just send some emails to microsoft and 343i, tell them what they did wrong with their old ones, tell them the strengths and why halo 1 is still very active on PC, and then tell them how the editing kit should work. Start with Halo 3, then ODST, so on and so forth. I would upgrade my rig just to get those games. Of course, nobody really thinks about writing messages to these companies, and explaining to them that the game should be released for the PC. Instead, they would simply say, "Can you port this game to the PC? I would really like it, and many other people would too!" But it won't work that way. Strength is in numbers. The xbox 360 is getting old anyway, so unless if the 720 (Or whatever it's called) will be released with windows 8 installed like it's rumored, then we'll be stuck for playing it on the 360 right now. (If it does have windows 8 installed, then that means anybody who upgrades to windows 8 will not only be able to play Halo 3, but also every other Console exclusive for the xbox 360. I don't own a lot of games, and it would probably be more expensive than all the games I have put together, but it seems like a deal to me). I might send a message to both microsoft and 343 explaining to them why they should create a PC port for Halo 3, Reach, etc. etc. If anybody has already done this, which it is very possible that some of you have, then please enlighten me.

It won't make any difference what so ever, unless you could convince every single person who plays any game on the xbox 360, you aren't going to do any good by just sending an email to them. Edited by Bobblehob on Mar 13, 2012 at 07:57 PM

I never said anything about a petition. I said emails. If you could get enough people to send out emails (Perhaps in one day) to both companies, then maybe they would actually do it. And Halo isn't the Xbox's only saving grace. There are two others. 1. Ignorance (PC sucks and the xbox is better than anything in the whole world kind of ignorance. I see it a lot.) 2. Fear of social status (Fear of being called a nerd because you play a PC game, even though you can just go ahead and plug in an xbox controller, and then it'd be just like a higher quality xbox. But I prefer the key board. It just feels right on custom maps...)
Those two alone have kept Call of Duty and Battlefield fans from playing PC. The whole reason why I got into PC is because Reach and Halo 3 Forge didn't do it for me, I needed something greater... and then I saw halo CE. And plus, most people won't just leave their regular xbox friends behind. I know somebody who has a broken xbox, and spent 2 months trying to fix it. It doesn't read disks, but it still works, so now whenever he's bored he goes online and talks to people, while remaining on the dash board. Edited by Mini0013xx on Mar 13, 2012 at 09:55 PM

Then there's always making your own version to suit the features you want... Why not just modify an existing engine, like what was done with splinter cell. Lighting-based AI visibility in that game is pretty much thanks to the heavily*modified unreal engine that they used, you can't replicate it with the stock engine(as far as a hotshot gamedev is concerned). Edited by Mini0013xx on Mar 13, 2012 at 09:55 PM To be honest, and not trying to make this a personal attack, but you are kind of ignorant as to how the system here works. The only possible way you could have any effect on the decisions as far as Ports of existing games to PC, would be to have millions upon millions of emails sent over a short period of time, enough that it causes issues for their servers or something, they might be inclined to listen, but even then they aren't likely to do so. It would probably not make them any money, when you consider the time and effort it would take for them to port the game to PC. Fear of social status has literally nothing to do with this. And yes, we all know what the advantages of an editing kit for the PC would be. The fact remains that Halo is likely to remain a console exclusive series. And almost nothing short of a ridiculous loss of popularity and consequent loss of profits will likely change that.

Xeon is an emulator for the original Xbox and can only play 1 game, Halo Combat Evolved. However it can't even go in-game, you can only use the main menu.
