I've heard about a program that enable people to unprotect a map to pick anything you want in it. So im here because I'D like to know if anyone could send me the files of the helicopter in the map: ambush. I would need it for my zombie survival solo map that Im currently working on. Sure... im gonna give credits.

thanks

Nah just kidding, it's something called something lighting. You'll have better chances at searching for it on google or halomaps search.

It's supposed to do that.
All the program actually does is make the tags extractable.

You've gotta figure out which tag is which.

That's the one. I made the joke because alot of people like ripping maps and using them for their own selfish purposes. I know it's "Microsoft's" property once compiled in tool, but the people still put time into making all that stuff, and people just ruin it by ripping it.

Anyways, Ambush is an old map; i'm sure the people who made it wont mind since they probably dissapeared years ago. Have fun.

yes its called eternal lightning (everyone really does know the full name of it as it has made headlines a few times lol), you would need to extract all the stuff from the map of your choice, then go through each tag in guerilla and sapien to work out what the tags are.
there a few maps that even that will not work on.

Open the map in eternial lighting and see if it works?

The method you see about getting the "good files" is the only method on how to do it. It's alot of work, but that's what happens when you try to rip files.

Some don't want to release it for what ever reason. The problem is that some take credit for ripped work or don't credit the creator.

What's wrong with ripping? Serves the owners right for being too selfish to release their tags.

That's not always the case, like what Dumb AI said, sometimes people make maps with what ever tags they find and don't even bother to credit the person who made them or in some cases even claim they made them themselves. But in other cases, like my last map, it's protected simply because the tags are not done. They may work good enough for the purposes needed in the map, but if someone were to rip the tags they might run into some issues with them.

This is a major factor to as why people protect their maps.

Besides, if they wanted the tags, they could just ask the original map maker.
