Just letting you know I made another map for CE. It a smallish map for maybe 2v2 - 4v4 matches - might stretch to a little more but I guess it might be a little hectic, although spawns are spread quite well.

I won't bother posting pics here because there are already a few great ones over at the halomaps download page...

Yeh, I agree the trees are a bit 'meh' as you put it, but they are standard scenery trees and scenery never quite looks right anyway in my opinion.

I had considered making the trees part of the bsp. maybe next map ;)

Spooky Hollow and a few of my previous maps and some classic maps are running on my server - Crypt's Mix Server - if anyone fancies trying it out with a few other people.

Nice job! JTLYK for future reference, dead trees look spookier, which (based on the map name) is the effect I assume you were going for.

Yes, I could have made / used 'dead trees', but I don't think they would have made it spookier. The atmosphere in the map is enhanced with some excellent sounds which I found at freesound.org
