One can not simply "tell" you how to use a program there are things out there called tutorials that will teach you how to use them, and the reason it closes is cause there is a error somewhere in the tags, search for a .txt file called debug.txt, it should be in your Halo folder or if your running Vista or Windows 7, have Halo installed into the Program Files, plus not running Sapian as a administrator then it should be located in <Local Drive>:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files or Program Files (x86) if your running a 64-bit version of windows, if it shows a error that you can't fix or don't understand then start a thread in the Support section of forums

Umm...how about right click on heck+ go to properties go to compatibility on settings click the box that says disable desktop composition.
Oh and if sapien and gorilla closes out to do the same thing or right click on it and go to compatibility and click on run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows Xp (Service Pack 2). If that don't work then i don't know....

lolwut profanity filter?

In all honesty, you don't really have a choice in the matter of using the Halo Editing Kit. You're likely missing a file or are experiencing file corruption.

Profanity? What are we 8-year-olds here? There aren't any forums that really consider crap profanity that I have been to. IMO, I have a different word for profanity. "Synonyms"
Besides no one really very much cares about profanity anymore. They didn't sensor "frack" in Battlestar Galactica even though they used it blatantly to replace only 1 possible word out there and it still is pretty similar to that word I might add. But seriously, no one gives a crap about crap.

If you want help, you will have to be a little more calm and informative.
Sapien does not open maps?
Did you even search for an answer to that?

Why HEKPLUS fails? everytime i open it crashes then close.
HEKPlus is a third party utility that requires the Microsoft dot net platform to operate. It was designed and released before windows vista or windows 7 were released and it requires some compatibility settings to operate on those operating systems. To run it properly on those operating systems right click on the HEK Plus program or startup icon and select properties. Select the compatibility tab and check "Disable Visual Themes" and check "Disable Desktop Composition" then click OK.

Strange, I can think of at least 6 forums off the top of my head where crap is considered profanity though I suppose it's fair game here. Last time I checked this is a forum, not Battlestar Galactica.

That is because you have all the tags that go with tutorial.scenario.
Try open some other map and then paste the last paragraph of debug.txt here.

Well,if you have a wired mouse, hold middle button(the scroll "wheel") then press W,A,S, or D to move around.Didn't you ever use debug camera in Halo CE?The controls are the same!
Oh yeah, use R to rise up and F to lower the camera at a lower position than before.

HEK is powerful, really. You could do so much more things with it.More than what you could ususally accomplish with Halo PC/Demo/Trial tools.

This problem crops up pretty often for new users of HEK+, including myself; it might be nice to put that on a site FAQ or similarly visible place so that people can see what's wrong. In my case, I had to search through Youtube videos to find out what was happening, so making this simple fix easier to find would be helpful to new users who generally turn to the halomaps site first when they get problems.
