No, the title isn't actually asking if this is on topic or not. I'm certain it's on topic.

There's a Skyrim mod that came out recently which upgrades that game's graphics immensely with multiple post processes.

Today, I downloaded the mod to see if it would work with Halo. Don't ask why I even considered that, I just did.

Anyway, the mod works fine technically in Halo. However, when I say technically, I actually mean 'It kinda-sorta works and actually does run in Halo'.
Unfortunately, most of the post processes don't actually work very well and make the game look worse, over-sharpening the graphics and messing up the colours.
The only one that does work currently is what the mod was originally designed for, antialiasing. FXAA to be exact. FXAA works absolutely perfectly in most games and is a great solution to ordinary antialiasing.

Problem? Halo's performance optimization sucks. Antialiasing reduces the fps to about 20(I haven't actually checked because I can't be bothered to turn xfire on right now xD) and lags the game immensely.

And that's why I'd like to ask anyone who's willing to check the mod out and try to work out a solution to the lag and, if possible, optimize the other post processes.

E: Oops, forgot to post a link to the mod itself.

Why not? I already stated it works on Halo. Or do you not actually read posts?

I've found a variation of the mod's settings. It makes the game look awesome and stops the lag. Although the lag might have actually been because I had -use30 set which either actually did make the shaders better or just reduced the fps pointlessly.

Why not post pics of that thingy aplied to Halo then?

Because it needs optimization. I've managed to fix the lag a little bit by finding an updated version of the mod. But I still need to edit the settings files to suit different users, and work out some way to lower the lag even more.

4gb ram, 512mb(I think) nvida 9500 GT graphics card, and 4ghz processor I think. Oh and I have XP

I don't think I can solve the lag. So either somebody else could look at the dll or only people with at least 6gb ram, 768mb graphics cards, and 6ghz processors could play with it, without lag. (Yes I did just add a 3rd to each spec from my computer :P).

E: I need somebody with a fairly powerful computer(More powerful than mine) to test the mod with my custom settings. I don't get unbearable lag but my fps seems to be reduced to about 35, which is terrible compared to my previous 60. So, if you'd like to test, pm me please.

FYI, no such thing as a 6GHz CPU - even OC'd and HT'd (OverClocked and HyperThreaded).

I could test this, but I'm away from my desktop for the next few months due to college :x

Also, 60fps? Try using VSync and the highest refresh rate your monitor can handle and see where that gets you.

Actually, I believe it was an Intel core that's been overclocked, frozen, and experimented on until it got to running at 8GHz. Can't remember exactly which core it was, but I think I saw it on IGN somewhere.

Also, I get about 200 fps without vsync. Unfortunately, most graphical overlays like this mod and enbseries decide to automatically enable vsync. Though I'm not entirely sure if this mod does do that because I actually get lower than 60fps with this mod activated.

Yes, but that was an experiment. There is no commercially available (or affordable) CPU that can achieve that kind of speed.

Go to the flea market and get a 240Hz CRT :D

Then I won't be alone! Join the 240ACTUAL FPS club!

^^Otherwise it's just like saying you have like a thousand FPS but ya really don't because your monitor only displays 60 and DROPS the rest

Anyway, it's not actually my computer that's causing the lag. Apparently others have had lag with this mod as well. If anyone can find a solution, go ahead and post it. I'll lightly check this thread, but atm I'm working on editing settings on the mod to perfection. :P
