I'm just wondering whether it is OK to use 3DS Max 2011-2012 Student for mapping for Halo Custom Edition. Does anybody recommend the regular licensed version over the Student, and if so, what are the major differences?
(Tell me if I posted this in the wrong section - I'm a bit of a noob :P)

yes you can use max 2012 for halo ce mapping as long as you dont try to sell your work, in the student version you can not sell your work. it is actually the same program being run under a different licence that expires in three years by that time you can just get a new version anyway. Cool. My internet is shoddily bad, so deciding what to do software-wise is crucial! 300 KB/s download, 400 KB/s upload... 15 KB/s per download, 20 KB/s per upload... Thanks for the speedy reply by the way!
