Right-click your 3ds max shortcut, go to properties, compatibility, and check disable desktop composition.

How is disabling desktop composition going to fix DLL pointing errors... Good Question!
How do you get max8 to work in windows 7 without it freezing after a few minutes and crashing... Good Question!

Well, I had a viewport issue with Gmax and that worked for me.

Guys, how do I install max 8 on a w7 64-bit? Everytime i run the installer from modacity, I get some missing dll or something.

I thought you could not use max 8 on 64-bit systems without doing something special like in win7 pro xp mode.

Which file are you running to install? there is two files that run the install, but one of them has it work after the install. Look for the file labeled with setup or installer, not the one labeled 3dsmax. Then when using blitzkreig, instead of system32, toss em in <ROOTDRIVE>:\Windows\SysWOW64\

Anyways, if you don't believe me, then oh well, your loss

There's a screenshot of me using W7 64bit, max8, as well as selecting blitz as my exporter *shrug* Back to my never ending homework *sigh*
