Hi i used to have 3ds max 7 installed and i reinstalled it be cause i upgraded to win 7 professional and i get this error when i try to open files and the screen does this

Right-click your 3ds max shortcut, go to properties, compatibility, and check disable desktop composition.

How is disabling desktop composition going to fix DLL pointing errors... Good Question!

Guys, how do I install max 8 on a w7 64-bit? Everytime i run the installer from modacity, I get some missing dll or something.

I thought you could not use max 8 on 64-bit systems without doing something special like in win7 pro xp mode.

Which file are you running to install? there is two files that run the install, but one of them has it work after the install. Look for the file labeled with setup or installer, not the one labeled 3dsmax. Then when using blitzkreig, instead of system32, toss em in <ROOTDRIVE>:\Windows\SysWOW64\ |
