Yes. I'm still a noob. I recently came across an ad for Mixamo auto-rigger. Clicked on it, it looks quite good. I'm wondering about people's opinions on its use for biped rigging to speed up the process of turning a model into an in-game character.

Yep. It looks pretty good for humanoid rigging though.

EDIT: Ah. Dammit. You have to pay like $100 to download the rigged model.

It's not an automated process, there's still human intervention.Which is why you have to pay so much $$

Why, just why. Can't even learn to rig your own models. Enjoy being forever lazy.

Not as skilled to rig which isn't that hard of a task, why pay $100 when you can do it for free, and get more enjoyment out of it and feel accomplished when you acutely do something yourself.

Oh wait this is halomaps I forgot.

Oh, cmon, I was only asking for people's opinions. Don't be hating on the forum community. I realise that doing stuff yourself gets that brilliant sense of achievement which cannot compare to getting other people to do it for you. After all, if you want something done right, do it yourself. I was just wondering if it was any good in the community's eyes. It seems like a pretty good idea imo, but of course manual can be altogether better than automatic.

It's not laziness. It's efficiency.
It's not the lack of being bothered. It's the lack of knowledge and time to learn.

This is not my field of expertise, that being literature, science, maths and creative (albeit often rather rubbish, I'll admit) concepts. This is a hobby. Halomaps is a place to enjoy modding as a hobby, share ideas, opinions and the fruits of our labours. As frustrating as the forums may be at times, I am sure Dennis enjoys running the site along the way, despite how much of what he posts displaying him as a weary old fellow.

I'm pretty sure everything you said is synonymous to being lazy.

Got to agree...

Have you people no sense? he's saying the same thing many new people to halo modding are. He isn't an expert video game maker, he, and many others, do this for a hobby, for fun. They don't have the time to learn ALL of the tricks and techniques. so they are trying to find ways of getting what they want done without having to learn a new trick for everything, And what do they get? patronized by people like you? Their new to it, their just trying to learn, and he just asked for an opinion, No need to be cruel about it. help them and maybe they'll learn. discouraging them will get no one anywhere.

And always remember: We have no rights, play nice...

Who are you to tell people what they can and can't do?

That's like saying people who suck at ping-pong can't join a ping-pong club, even if they do enjoy it.

I also have no idea on how to rig, and if I was working on my own I would also look for the fatest and easiest way to get stuff like this done if I needed it. It is a very normal and human reaction.

So yeah, don't let this kid project his negativene attitude on you, just ignore these kinds of people.

Pay me 5$ per rig and I do it for you.

5$ for putting 2 as bone affect limit
for clicking a bone
for selecting a sack of vertices and setting their affect value to 1
then selecting each member and rigging vertices using grow/shrink options.

rigging is really really hard and loooooong.

No really, you can do it really quick even with a complicated model if you're kinda clever

The ONLY thing I was defending was the human aspect behind this guy's topic. Petera NEVER mentioned he would pay people to do this for him, he just wanted people their opinion on this website. He did not coming in here looking for idiots to tell him to get a new hobby.

And @Grunts, I was calling you out on being an idiot for trying to discourage people, that is all there is to it. This is no discussion, and I will not continue the virtual one you tried to kick up.

I am discouraging him from keeping a bike that he does not know how to use. Discouraging people from being the best they can be, by telling them to LEARN, does not fall under an idiot. But hey, that's just my opinion. I expect you to not respond to this.

Not at all. What you are saying is that if I have a motorcycle I should take out the motor and put pedals on it. Or that I should cycle without a bike. Either one.

No. That requires you to actually get on the motorcycle at the very least. You aren't even trying to do that, you just want someone else to drive it for you..
You can't use not knowing how to do something as an excuse, and you can't talk your way out of that, so enough with the analogies. If you don't see my point then its really too bad for you.

I believe I answer fully, but you only accept part of the message. If I do not, please elaborate. I am fully willing to do things for myself, this was merely an idea. If you are referring to HRCEMT, that was a long time ago. I even put an epic speech somewhere on the forums about how I was wrong. Not knowing how to do something is a perfectly valid excuse, but that is not the problem. The point is, this isn't serious. I can still do things through trial and error. You fail to see the bigger picture. I can talk myself out of anything. I don't need to be right, but I can sure as hell make my answer reasonable and justified. Ask me anything. I will thwart you. I honestly do not see your point. Tell you what, I'll try and update this post with my speech about how I was stupid and deluded. 1sec.

EDIT: Found it

Just an FYI here, we were never retards, folks. In case you didn't notice, the only reason HRCEMT was crap is because we did nothing. Too disorganised, just a mismatch group of people some of whom were illiterate. I'm sorry I was over-eager, and I'm sorry that I couldn't get the team to order once I'd sorted things out, but don't you dare judge us. People take things to the community so that they can contribute. You must understand, we may have been idiots, I especially. As you should know from experience, there is nothing that can't be rectified from a mistakei f it has been established as possible, and possibly even with things unestablished. I talked with some veteran members on xfire who had a similar point of view when they first joined. Now, let's be honest, when I can clearly see things philosophically as well as through my own two eyes, and I can take amusement from writing long speeches or essays, does that make me a retard? True, my skill is not in mapping, but in writing. In the imagination of the mind expressed through the beauty of the English language. I try, I fail, I get back up. So what? Everybody has their flaws, and even a year of little progress but still large contributions textually to the community leaves me satisfied. We, sir, are no retards. Be careful with your words. We are those who have been disillusioned and in turn have been met with further disillusionment. I see clearly now, and will start afresh. HRCEMT? No more.
FRMT continues to produce sufficient quality content, and, as you must know, even though it is often forgotten, this is a non-profit site. While there may be places for criticism, there is still the element of fun to be remembered. Enjoy yourselves. Live good lives and in turn help others live good ones too. The results will be surprising. I ask you not to follow my words, but to follow what you believe is truly best.

Live long and prosper.

Thing is, he can't do anything himself at all. Why do a hobby when you don't have the time to learn how to do it?Who are you to tell me I can't tell someone this? Who am I to tell you that you can't tell me to tell him this? Fail? It's simple to understand. If you can't ride a bike, what's the point in keeping one unless you're going to try to learn how to use it?

EDIT: I know you have a habit of completely disregarding half my posts and only replying to part of it to try and avoid the real message, so I'll do you justice by telling you right now. Respond to all of it in your next response.

Hey are you that Faggot on xfire yoko grunt or something like that.

I don't like you!

Do you even know who he is? Did you even TRY to figure out who he is in the first place? Try to get to know a person before you judge them.
