Update - Adjutant R2Adjutant R2 has been uploaded to halomaps: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=6058 It has the following updates: - New settings screen
- You can set the default map and data path
- You can set the default tag filter
- You can change the default "extract as" types for batch extraction
- All settings will save and reload each time
- Batch extraction is now faster and doesn't freeze
- Batch extraction only extracts tags that haven't already been extracted
- You can now extract models as .obj
- Fixed the bug where Adjutant will not run from the desktop
- Minor UI improvements
To clear some things up: Adjutant is free, and does not have any extraction capabilities that xTraction doesn't have, although it does have a lot more features. Adjutant is not for modding Halo3, its purpose is solely for using Halo3 content in HaloCE and Machinima. Features:- Tag Types Filtering
- Folder Hierarchy View
- Batch Extraction
- Included meta viewer with built in plugins
- Works on Vista and 7 and XP
- All files are internal - no internet required

- More stuff when I think of it

No extracting sounds?
Thats literally the only thing I do if I extract other games stuff, e.g Halo 2.

No, no sounds yet. The extraction module I used only has minimal sound support, which doesn't include extraction. I know kornman has code for sound extraction, but like he said in the last thread, its only partial. Also, it uses a different system to mine for the map reading, so I don't think I'll be able to mix them both in the same application.

Alright :(
A Halo 3 sound extractor (like Halo 2 ADI) would be really useful though, so whenever thats in there let me know!

No guarantees, but maybe within the next month? Hopefully I'll have the model viewer working by then as well.

I've been trying to get the ingame version of One Final Effort, and also it's dumbed down counter part for some time now, plus alot of other sound effects and songs.

Just a heads up, I've added a list of upcoming features to the first post. Also, for those waiting, Adjutant R2 is still in the waiting line for the uploads.

This is a bit off-topic, but to gravemind...you seem to know what you're doing when it comes to programming. Think you could try and let recorded animations work correctly (a way to record them CORRECTLY basically)?
I say correctly, because there is an app out there already, but it doesn't record what you actually put in. It records something, but I think it processes it wrong, since if you play your recording afterwards it's far off of what you actually recorded.

You mean to be able to extract more bitmaps? I'm going to try to get it working better, but no guarentees. If you want it to extract with no errors, try extracting as .dds or .bin, but then you need to have something that can open them. (also, if you have a dds viewer, it will still probably only open DXT and CTX formatted dds images - I havent seen anything that can open the other formats) Quote: --- Original message by: mastur cheef Btw I want to extract folders with bitmaps without problems to the spot where i want. not to Data folder. As for the problems, same thing as above. For the folder, you can change the extraction folder, but it will always automatically create relevant sub-folders (such as "objects" > "characters" > "odst" > "bitmaps") This is so you dont have to navigate through the folders all the time when extracting, and it also helps when extracting multiple folders. If I had the source code I could attempt to find the cause, but you're probably better off consulting whoever made the program.

The code isn't actually from Alteration and xTraction, its from a module which happens to be the same module used by them. I modified that module and used it in Adjutant. The actual map handling and reading is done in that module (hence why a lot of editors use it), whereas my extra features (such as batch extraction, tag heirarchy, etc) and the UI are all done by me.

Kornman apparently said it was a relatively easy task to get recorded animations to work, but that he was too lazy.
Sadly I can't find mister Sparkle or whoever made the application in question :'(
So to Sparkle, if you are reading this, pl0x fix up yur app!

lol yea well Kornman is a much better programmer than me, If I was that good, I'd already have sound and animation and bsp extraction, and a heap of other things I've wanted to do.

Hello everybody, I've got good news and I have bad news...
Good news: I've uploaded Adjutant R2 to mediafire and the link is in the first post. I'm not sure whats happening with the HaloMaps uploads due to the whole hurricane thing.
Bad news: Due to the whole hurricane thing, sound extraction has been delayed because the guy I was collaborating with lives in that area and may have been affected. Hopefully he will be back in the next couple of days.

There should be .emf, .txt and two kinds of .obj. The .obj isn't available in batch extraction, you have to go to the model tag and and click extract, then choose .obj.

I've never tried to import sky models from Halo3 before, but I'm pretty sure what Spartan 279 said is right. The Halo3 bsps are way bigger than the bsps in Halo1, so they require a sky thats tenfold the size of in Halo1 (beyond the size limit)
