the first step to improve something is to fix it first (to make a better mods fix already occurring problems)

You should totally fix the covenant shield generators to have the correct type of plasma stuff going on, like the teleporter!

Keep in mind a lot of issues are also caused if you rip tags with HEK+. Just thought I'd make sure you were aware of this.

I don't see anything horribly wrong that would put me off from buying another Gearbox game. Unless your talking about a different game then Halo? Edited by chrisk123999 on Aug 2, 2011 at 09:14 PM

Sure, if you have the best weapons and perks, then you're going to think it's fun, but if you're a level 20 Sergeant being ravaged by Snipers and Helis, then it's reasonable ground to say the gameplay is shallow and rather stupid. All it is is Spawn Camping, you kill the other player in one pressing of the trigger worth of bullets, and on top of that there just reaches a point where it simply becomes redundant or controlled by Helis. Are we done here? Masters, could you please elaborate on what you mean? I'm very interested in this other side of Gearbox's conversion of HCE. They lied and broke so many promises to us it isn't even funny, not to mention their disregard for the community and shoving us off their site, refusal to patch the game even when people were crashing servers and they were aware of it, banning people for speaking up against corrupt moderators, and lets not forget how they wouldn't address the fact you couldn't play BIA on Vista for several months and ignoring their community.

Wouldn't it have been up to Microsoft to patch it? since I'm pretty sure they were under contract to port the game.

Part of the reasoning of making CE a separate game was so they could do updates when they felt like it. Which they never did, unless the update was required by MS.

It's been a while, but it was something about fast shaders and the boot time in relation to maps being loaded. Sure they had a few other things too.

I doubt Microsoft would have liked Gearbox making changes to their game in favor of the community. Updates would have to be signed off by Microsoft anyway.

huh? Halo CE Forum You can't expect them to give it the same importance as their newer titles? Quote: --- Original message by: Masters1337 refusal to patch the game even when people were crashing servers and they were aware of it,
By that time they no longer had any rights to the code which is why Microsoft patched it. Hell even Bungie had no rights to the code by that time. They also had no way to distribute the patch since it was all under Microsoft's control. I know because they contacted me and in a conference call with GBX & MS I agreed to distribute it until Microsoft could make their internal arrangement's. Quote: --- Original message by: Masters1337 Part of the reasoning of making CE a separate game was so they could do updates when they felt like it. This is untrue. They made CE a separate game, at cost to them, because Microsoft would not not bend on the fact that it all had to fit on on one CD. Otherwise Halo PC would have been the same as Halo CE. Gearbox originally planned on Halo PC being capable of custom user made maps but the game and editing kit would not fit on one CD. So they honored their contract with Microsoft and also honored their statements with the public by making Halo CE. Gearbox may not be perfect but they have been a pretty good friend to the user community within the bounds of their contracts. As for your perception of their forum: You were younger when you participated there.

Which they never did, unless the update was required by MS. I'm fairly certain the main reason it's a separate game was because if they where to update Halo PC to support the map format, they would have to update every map for Halo PC, forcing you to download all the maps over again. And they can't do that because of the 56k support. Edit: Dennis beat me to it. Edited by chrisk123999 on Aug 2, 2011 at 11:47 PM

the reason why the fog does not show the scenery correctly is a) light mapping skips b) light map quality (if you run at the highest setting it will make it blend with bsp) Edited by Hydrogen on Aug 3, 2011 at 06:24 AM

Make sure your using a very powerful PC. None the less it is Halo CE but half the bugs in CE are from graphics cards, so things you might be changing may be your cards fault, and not CEs
