I've read from a couple sources, one says definately no, and the other says maybe this year.

What I'm talking about is Halo 3 being ported to PC.

I'm just curious as to if anyone knows what will really happen with this.

That will most likely not happen since Halo 2 PC was such a big failure, only possible way is if Bungie or Microsoft decides to port it over to the PC which probably won't happen

I know, but Gearbox made Halo CE for pc, so idk if they could do it for Halo 3 as well.

If Halo 3 came out for pc, and it had the same tools and possibilities as Halo CE, it would be amazing and definately help out this community.

Well, Microsoft has been pretty stingy with the whole Halo thing and if Halo 3 hasn't been ported by them at this time, it probably won't be by anyone else. Think about it, halo 3 is almost 3 years old.

Wish it could happen, since I don't play on my xbox anymore, and any game I have on there, I just get for my computer.

Just wait for Xbox 360 emulation then that or maybe if Microsoft does decide to port Halo 3 but I doubt it would have a editor like Halo it would most likely be limited like Halo 2's

No one "Deserves" to be hacked.

Windows 8 is said to have Live integration and G4WL has fully moved on to XBox.com.


MS has also claimed a big push for PC gaming with Win8, yet they have said this with every Windows release.


So the question is: Will they bring XBox games (an emulator or more ports) to PC or will they continue to push XBox gaming on PC gamers with only an application that allows you to see who is on Live? Only time will tell for sure.

There has been no official announcement of Halo 3, ODST or Reach being ported to PC.

I seriously doubt that those games will ever appear on the PC since there is not enough financial incentive to rework the Blam! Halo 3 or Reach engines to work on PC and MS live. The Halo franchise is pretty much a console game since that is where the bulk of the user base is. You have to remember that Microsoft's reason for supporting Halo on the console is not only to sell the software but to sell the Hardware as well. People have purchased the Xbox and Xbox360 specifically to play the Halo Games whereas very few people have bought a PC to play a video game.

Skip to 2:35 and you'll see Halo 3 pop up as a game, though the title also has "...and Xbox Live" in it so it may very well just be that. I agree with others that it's just too late to port the game over, and that it wouldn't be very profitable for Microsoft.

If anything though they should port Reach and cross-console enable it since a PC player's aim wouldn't have as big of a factor due to the bloom.
