Sooo, who wants to join me in making anime maps?

To join, you must be atleast this FABULOUS

(being able to model and such helps too, but its ok if your FABULOUS)

If your going to make a post about anime, discribe ways you feel it would work well in halo (as to not degrade the topic into pure anime discussion) I'll start out with Star Driver

So, to make a Star Driver map, there is two course that could be taken. 1) Have players start as humans, and have to 'APPRIVOISE!' a Cybody for battle.. this would be fairly pointless as when is a player gonna run around in human form not using their Cybody, aswell as multiplayer issues. To force enter a vehicle like apprivoise, you would have to have clientside vehicles, which would mean doubles.. Another course of action here is do what happened in the first episode, and teleport them onto their cybodies hand and let them enter from there. 2) Just have players as Cybodies. Since it would be harder to differentiate between cybodies at that point for special attacks, it would be easiest to just have Tauburn's VS Reshbals, aswell as this would be great for multiplayer games; red vs blue.

When flashlight is pressed, random special attacks would be activated, such as Tau Missairu! and PILE CRUSHAAA or even PILE JET!

Bleach might be reasonable if we keep it to the older stuff with just Shinigami and such. Including fullbringer would be anoying. 'Invaders Must Die' especially; it would be essentially forge, and im not putting that much effort in. 'Time Tells no Lies' might be decent, just make it so that you shoot a destructable projectile on someone, and have it so when someone dies, they release a effect that can destroy that projectile. the projectile has a minute lifespan, if you cant get it off by then, you die. Riruka's 'Doll House' would just be teleporting people to another place. Etc. Shinigami stuff would be much easier, just stuff like Hitsugaya's homing dragon, getsuga tenshou spamming, etc. (besides, most of you who are into Bleach probably only watch the Anime and have no clue what im talking about right now)

Sacred Seven that started airing the other day might be nice. He even has a freaking inventory screen lol. And what was with his evolutionary chain?... he evolves to much in one episode.

So, what your roles in the team would be stuff like deciding what Animes would transistion well into halo, doing what ever your mapping skill is (hopefully modeling) and keeping me focused (when im not watching anime).

And to let you know, if nobody joins, then it dies.

Try One Piece. Massive boat battles in HCE would equal monumental win.

So what part of this map are you doing?.. Anyways, I don't read the manga, so I don't know what things there really are to incorporate. some long ranged rubber arm, and something about flying limbs.

The number one thing at the moment is getting team members, and discussing what anime and manga they read, and discuss the mechanics of those features in halo.

Used to be somewhat of a Narutard myself (Naruto), though I'm not sure how that could really be put into Halo within any reasonable limits.

Might be useful for modeling, but there is always the offical concept art online to help with modeling lol. If we can find some modelers, we'll see if you would like your service, but as you can see, your the only person who has offered to join so far.

I Still am, but I agree about how it would be hard to fit with Halo.

Bleach maybe? It would be fun to slice up people as a Soul Reaper or eat people as a Hollow, or hell, be in the middle as a Visord. (Not sure if thats how you spell it...)

Naruto, wouldnt it mostly be shurikan, fire, electric, and other wizardry (with loud shouting before battle, because obviously ninjas arent stealthy[/sarcasm])

I already talked about bleach in the first post. Zanpakuto would be easy for the most part, fullbringer might be annoying, cero would be fine, and hollows don't really show that many unique things lol. Visored would probably be the best thing to have the players as, because then they could use anything; cero, resurection, bankai, shunpo or sonido, or even fullbring (Why in the world do Hollow-humans get special powers, and not shinigami-humans?) and for those of you who don't know what fullbringer is.. ichigos is plotarmor (he gains armor, and a sword while in his human body) chad's is his arms, and it is implied that it is orihimes powers but not labeled as yet. It can also be used to play Space Invaders, make boots, trap people in dollhouses, set time limits, cut through anything, rewrite memories.

Another thing to make could be Madoka Magica. Kind, caring magical girls, protecting the world from dispair.. Making contracts with kyubey in return for any wish. Then, have your soul ripped from your body, turned into a jewel where you slowly fall into dispair and become a witch. And skrew reloading, discard the gun and get a new one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnuRMlxRRbA
Basically, just make the guns firing effect make a garbage tag to drop guns. And definatly make the biped have regions so you can destroy the head. Same idea for swords. Seems fairly easy, its just the graphics that will need effort to make them SHAFT quality.

Also, is there anyone who wants to join?....................................

If you want to be serious about this I imagine you could attract more talent by digging into A) stuff that finished airing more than 1 year ago and has a somewhat greater volume of usable lore to it and B) stuff that's more along the lines of "traditional" sci-fi (I don't imagine too many members of the community of Halomaps coming together to do a mod based around a dark and edgy magical girl show).

Honestly I am not sure what the... meaning (for lack of a better word) is in creating an "anime" map team. I don't think anyone would propose an "American film" map team or "Russian theater" map team... the premise lacks weight because you could just as easily be going for a Gundam mod as a Devilman mod or Aim for the Ace[!] (with fantastic tennis gameplay!!!). There's just something very bizarre to me about deciding you want to make a mod with selection based on a medium rather than a particular universe or even genre of fiction if you want to be that wide-open.

Moreover it's hard enough making content based on one premise, I can't really imagine a team pulling off multiple content mods especially if they're as divergent from the Halo universe as Madoka Magika and Star Driver. Like I said, you will probably have a hard time finding people from this community with the skills or desire to model, texture and/or animate hyper-cutesy little girls or flamboyant men. I wouldn't.

I also raise the question: will people in the team be required to watch the anime in question once it has (or they have) been decided upon? What if they don't like it?

I do not know what you mean by this... are you proposing that the CE engine be held to the standard of... a specific 2D animation studio? How would you even do such a thing? This returns me to my other main point: you are probably going to have more luck with something that wouldn't require gigantic overhaul of existing Halo assets; cel shading is hard enough to pull off well, much less trying to replicate "SHAFT quality". I understand that this could be necessary to replicate the... "feel" of certain anime but... what is even the point of that? To me that would seem like attempting to dress up your Russian Theater map with various scenery pieces to make it look like it's set in a genuine Russian theater while your chosen play is the center of the mod. Again, I think picking a compelling universe and making a mod around that rather than making a mod around "let's pick an anime" is more practical and, additionally, more reasonable.

If you care to hear suggestions: If you want mecha in CE I would suggest something along the lines of Armored Trooper VOTOMs or Macross - universes with emphasis on ranged combat (additionally the transformation from mech to plane could be particularly interesting) and with extensive references and material to draw upon. There's even more general sci-fi or even just "stuff with guns in it" that could be more easily adapted and would probably generate more general interest.

Star Driver may be new, but it has alot of stuff, like random ass attacks out of no where each week, etc. At my college, we'd watch it every weekend, and spend the entire week talking about how fabulous it was, and キラ星ing each other for hellos.

And this is general anime at the moment since there is nobody in the team. Everyone here seems to be interested in claiming what they want, but not being part of it.

I don't really care what is produced in the end, I just want it anime involved. As team members join, they share their opinons, and the team takes shape. As the title says, 'name pending'. The final product could just be a free for all of all kinds of anime things, similar to Super Smash Brothers, etc. Again, everything is waiting on a team forming first.

When creating stuff, I always make piles of random stuff. And when modeling, biggest problem ive had with anime people is the hair, and hands (I really hate hands..) haven't tried in a year though, so mb im better at modeling anime people now *shrugs* and textures.. SHAFT things are probably the only place textures will be considered that big, japanese school uniforms are just basically solid colors with some stitch marks and occasional stripes, etc.

They don't need to watch it, just as long as they understand whats to be done. If they don't like it, they can talk with the team, and possible sit back during that map, or work on something in that map that they enjoy working on.

Come on, thats not that hard. paper styled textures on a few things, normal play areas, and some render only 'wtf' in the background.

its not the item that im aiming for, but the feelings. Star Driver, with its random everything; weekly attacks out of no where, random fabulous parts for no reason, the incredible use of engrish throughout that series.

Well, I guess you just don't understand how random of a person I am. Thanks for your opinions anyways.

Full Metal Alchemist would be cool. You know using Alchemy to make Weapons and than maybe even have a secret weapon in there called the Philosapher Stone which kills off the entire other team.

I would like to focus your attention to the red (mostly all the people who are just here requesting things, and not following the format I asked when you want to talk about anime ideas)
