Is there a way to keep vehicles out of a certain area like in deathIsland where banshees cannot go into a base even though it fits perfectly through the entrances?
Is there a way to keep vehicles out of an OPEN area of space, like bushes/foliage even though the player can go through it fine?

As far as the issue with the base entrance is concerned, adjusting the collsion geometry on the base model around the doorways would prevent this(if its not part of the bsp that is) Otherwise adjust each vehicle's collision to make it "bigger" than the entrance (only do this for the banshee because if you do it with a hog; it won't drive anywhere and you might as well use it as a bowling ball.
However, remember seeing on the sight somewhere a base "parimeter alarm" that triggers according to team color (ie- blue base's is triggered by red players); if you rigged it with a damage effect and disabled the sound, you should get what you desire, if not a very good detourant. Stick some scenery crates in front of the doors? Also, Death Island used player clipping.
