Since I got bored when 1/10th through making the BSP, I probably should of stopped the whole plan instead of just stopping modeling, but still.... release it anywayz! lol. I don't even know if any other maps hosted on this site have the same name since its a simple name, but who cares? lol.

Small city (Was gonna make it bigger.. but got bored after halfway through second building) that was originally going to be a demonstration map for my syncing transportation (syncs every location along path) but I got bored lol. Map has 3 big things for your entertainment, uniquely flying vehicle (you'll understand when you drive one lol. Definatly works better on bigger vehicles though...), Portal gun (it only respawns every 200 seconds, aswell as removes portals at that time. grab it during the small times its there), and the transit system underground.

Map is unprotected, you have my permission to take whatever, I really don't care.

And this is totally not a troll into making you test stuff for me and give me feedback on their functionality..........*cough cough cough*

Details into the 3 big things.
Portal Gun: Press flashlight to drop portals (I have a SP test map released if you want the SP script with the two firebuttons) and with the MP setup I have for the portals, they stay at their exact location you left them, retaining the force in which you dropped them. So if your moving super fast when you dropped it, you will fly in that direction every time you come out of that portal (only just noticed that lol) I don't really have any good explanation for that other than blaming it for lacking physics, so it was dragged at that speed and without physics cant move, so its still trying to go that fast?.. idk, it works, thats all I know.

Vehicle: Its a sentinel, it goes up, down, left, right, foward, back. It moves like a ghost, yet goes up when you press space, and down when you press crouch (not as smoothly as it could of if it was a bigger vehicle..) just test it for yourself, etc. And the easily flipping.. its just because its small, if it was bigger and more spread out, it would be more stable (rather than all physics points almost in the same spot lol) impliment the system on what ever you want.

train: In pause menu, host can resync, remotely change power and direction. On the device itself, it has power and direction. By the magic of binary, it can relay its location to clients so they can see it at the same location. It also resyncs anytime power or direction is changed, so even joiners can resync it themselves if necisary... read the forums for more info, ive released the script there too.

Anyone questioning the date, I did the map yesterday, I just didn't get around to releasing it till today (cause I was having to much fun with rider_ejection 0 and the sentinel lol. and occasionally the portal gun)

If you don't care about those 3 features, the map isn't for you (as there is very little of anything else) No pictures for a reason (because I was lazy when I built it, the features are far better advertisement than any pictures could be since the graphic level was lazy)

I'll Also use this thread for you people to suggest other random features you want to see in HCE, so if you have random things you think are impossible, blah blah blah. Laziness ftw.

Anyways, in this map, I re-worked the MP scripts a bit (seeing as how I'd never tested the MP ones when releasing the SP test map for people to rip from lol) I don't see why people rated that other map so low.. where they seriously downloading it for gameplay and not the tags and scripts?..


Picking the gun up from 20 feet away is useful since it despawns after a little while, and will only respawn every 200 seconds lol. it makes it harder to miss when you can pick it up from a third of the map.

anyone on the side of client, how did the portalgun look for you? when I was going through the loop, did it look like I was lagging along my flight path, or did you actually see me being thrown threw the air between the portals?

the train is more of a box, because since my plans changed when I got bored of modeling buildings, I was no long having a train track around the map, so instead, I make a tunnel underground. but, if I made it a normal train, you wouldn't be able to enter from the other side, so instead, I made it more boat like with ramps on both sides

after I gave up on modeling buildings, I sorta gave up on all graphical aspects since thats never really interested me as much as functions do.

Haven't tested the map yet, but portal gun in MP sounds fun. Always wanted to try it in Halo MP! It was very useful in Unreal Tournament.

Am i really the only one here that doesn't use Rar files? Any chance that this map could be released in a zip file; cause if everything works well it could be turned into something epic. XD

Are you fricken serious? Why would you want it in zip when its in rar which you can already open with winzip? Winrar is superior to winzip tho, just saying ;)

But seriously though; zip is a more neutral mode of dispersal because anyone can open and or use files from zips; rars are an entirely different subject.

how is winrar a bad program?.. and would you prefer 7-zip? its a fine program too. (also, mb install it on a computer instead of a 'cumputer'?)

and rar is perfectly neutral. After all, my PSP and Ipod both perfectly understand it.. infact, I think my DS might too. if you want me to be obscure, I can upload the map in a jpeg for you. I really don't see why you hate compressed files so much, it saves my bandwidth, it saves your bandwidth, it even shares the hosting sites bandwidth.. everyone wins.

its the pistol in the middle of the map that you can pickup from like 20 feet away. its placed as a weapon just to make sure multiple people aren't trying to use it at once and fighting over portals (since I haven't bothered setting up ways to track whose portals are whose)

If it despawns, it respawns in increments of 200 seconds. or, just object_create_anew_containing tele

wait i juzt downlode but how do i play it my friend sayd i hav 2 put th map in the maps folder but wat do i do after that and can you tel me how 2 mod like ur mod thanx

I was extracting a 10 GB rar file before in 7-Zip.. aparently 7zip cannot understand multiple files openned at once, it overwrote the temp files for the rar I was extracting with the other one I had open. So, after wasting all that time extracting that rar, I went ahead and installed winrar again. I've never had that problem with winrar, so im gonna stick with it lol.

First to extract it from the rar. Get something like 7-zip or winrar, what ever you feel most comfortable with. Then you locate your Halo Custom Edition folder. in a 32 bit windows system with default install paths, it would be in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\Maps\
in a 64 bit system with default installation paths, its C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\Maps\
Just put it in your map folder and you can load it in the multiplayer menu.


When making any map, the first step is knowing what your wanting to build. Just get a rough overview of everything you want to include in your map, and how it will inter-function between each other. start jolting down script commands you need for complex functions, and thinking how tags will need to interact with each other to make these scripts respond the way you want and give the outward appearance you where striving for. There is plenty of tutorials on hce.halomaps.org, you can start reading there.
