I read all of the old halo books from when halo combat evolved came out. I was wondering if there was anybody who would want to make campaign missions based of the following books with me.
Halo: first strike
Halo: the flood (okay I know that all of you will be saying: "this was in the halo 1 campaign." but there were many areas and scenarios that were not in the campaign)
Halo:contact harvest
Halo: ghosts of onyx (a good one you see spartan IIIs in action)
Halo: the fall of reach (again I know that you will all be saying that: "this is halo reach" no it is not this book deals master chief's squad (blue squadron) saving some of the spartan training facilitys with Dr Hasley
I hope that some of you will be willing to make a campaign with me

Well believe it or not, you aren't exactly the first to suggest levels based on the books. You'd think someone would have actually made one by now, but apparently no one has gotten around to it.

Just what will you contribute if you do end up making a campaign?

Because I'd be more than happy to help if you do.

I'm sorry but does anyone else see anything wrong with that statement. please sel, I'm just saying that it would be a good idea to make a campaign mission basd on the halo book. and I'm also saying that I would do the majority of the work. and on that note I don't think I know much more about halothat all of the other people on this site. I just mean that I know more than the AVERAGE player in halo CE

It's an idea that's been suggested numerous times, however, no one in this blasted community is willing to do so because they're too busy putting down members because they can do more in the engine. He was trying to keep flaming to a minimum, without going spastic at him and becoming flamebait.

If you put lots of work into something you already know people will like (like Halo: Reach things, or plotlines from the Halo books), then you know that someone will appreciate your work. If you make something that's never been done before, and people end up thinking it's stupid, you've wasted a lot of time for nothing, right?

:S It's not really like it's a new thing. Have you ever seen the generic brand of anything? They know the original is something that works, and that people will like. Sure, they could try and market their off-brand cola imbued with the flavors of eucalyptus and vinegar, but it'd probably be a safer bet to just stick with lemon-lime. I like quality h3 tags and hreach tags etc. But, people really get remembered for doing something crazy. Not just remaking something somebody else already did. Try something that nobody has done in CE before, or maybe even something that Bungie hasn't done or gotten right.

I could spend my life trying to develop a machine that turns gold into lead. And if it was a success..... people probably wouldn't be too fond of it. What use would it serve? But I devoted time to it, right? So they should love it.

1 I wonder how many of you actually READ the books
2 The books would make a great story fo a campaign
3 I'm not "half-assing" anything
4 I already do make and try to help with as many prodjects that exist
5 and I wonder, why do all of my threads degenerate into a worthless argument?

And yes, I actually have all of those (with the exception of the comics). 2) Yes, they would. 5) Because this is HaloMaps :|
