Does anyone know of a video that thoroughly covers LOD creation for Halo CE?

I'll just stick to music as mapping is not for me.

If you mean getting them in-game, simply name the .jms files "modelname superhigh", "modelname high", "modelname medium", "modelname low", and "modelname superlow" (pretty sure that's what it was, it's been a while). As for actually making your models lower-poly without effing them up, I don't know.

Do what SeanTheLawn said, but also don't forget to set your LOD cutoffs in guerilla. This is how far in world units you have to be from your object to see a certain LOD.

I'll try it. Thx BTW what do I have to do about the pixel cutoffs. I tried doing cutoffs and I am not sure I understand exactly how they work. edit: Thank you VERY much for recommending that. I like it! Still not sure how to go about setting cutoffs properly though if anyone can help there. Edited by eliteslasher on May 21, 2011 at 12:15 AM

In the model tag, at the top, there's boxes for each LOD. Each value represents the number of pictures on the screen the model needs to take up in order for that LOD to be used. For example, the superhigh value for the MC is 400. If the model takes up 400 pixels on screen or more, it will use the superhigh value. If it's less, it will use the high value until it gets to 250 pixels, then use the medium. Etc, etc.

ah so it's for TOTAL area on the screen. Gotcha! Thanks bro! Edit: Can LODs be checked in Sapien or do you have to go ingame to check to make sure that they are working correctly. I tried setting my cutoffs to something that should have for sure been visible to me in sapien but I didn't see a change. Edited by eliteslasher on May 21, 2011 at 08:17 PM
