First of all I am well aware that it is very important to NOT bypass the tag space limit in a single player map. But there are just a few questions about it that I need answered.
1)What is the exact limit for a SP map?
2)Is there a way to tell how close I am to reaching this limit
Also, for the project I am working on, I need to have a set of bipeds have some specific animations for certain situations. Each one of these biped could be in one of three different spots. Now which would be more tag space efficient, having three identical biped placed and just spawn whichever I need through scripts, or have one biped with three sets of animations? And I mean biped, not actor variant. This has nothing to do with AI.
After reading that I realized that I probably did not explain that well. Basically, my question is this: Which takes up less tag space?
A)Three identical bipeds or B)One biped with three sets of animations
I sort of need to know this before I start making my animations

A)Three identical bipeds or B)One biped with three sets of animations 1) I don't believe there is an exact set tag limit for a SP map. It depends on how big your map is and on other things. 2) Tool will tell you if you reach it. Or it will not compile. I'd say three identical bipeds would take up less space. But that is just a guess, I cannot be certain with that.

One biped with 3 animation sets takes up less space.

Thanks, once my animations are done all I need to do is make the scripts and I will have playable beta build.

There is, It's about 200+ for one BSP I think, but the more BSPs you have, the more space you get although I am not sure if it is proportional to the amount of BSP scenarios available. I think there is also a limit to how many BSP scenarios you can have. Edited by jesse on May 1, 2011 at 11:36 PM
