OMG RIPS!

Actually no, it is custom for once. (Well... textures)


EDIT: As in model is custom, textures are ripped.

Right Click, View Image for HUGE resolution..
Modeling: Credits to StatuatoryTrOy for the Model..

Getting this to work in Max 2012 was a pain, also shadering it also took hours. BUt it was worth it, especially with the new real time Viewport

Not sure if this will ever be in CE, I may ask, and export. It is CE and Crysis ready at current state.

Looks. Awesome. 'Nuf said, really. Here's hoping you can get it into CE, as I bet quite a few players are ready and willing to give this a whirl. All you really need are proper H3 weapons (sword and hammer a distant, but nice idea), and it's ready for the masses.

guardian would be a great map for ce, looks sweet. i know mythril is making a guardian looking map called savior, whether or not it will ever get released is another story.

Just wondering because I see this a lot, but what are those yellow and blue outlines in your viewport?

Btw, looks cool, hope you release it for CE.

Safe Framing [Shift+F]:

They are safe frames, for rendering that show your main area of the viewer's attention. and the actualt outer frame a similar size to the resolution. Example: If you are rendering at 1920x1080 the Viewport can show up to 4000x4000. Safe Frames locks a aspect ratio to the resolution, so it maye make your view smaller, but good for shooting renders and clips.

Edit: In my pic the gray bars under the safe frames, are extra viewport space that can be used to see the scene. but are closed off to match a 1920x1080 resolution or a ratio compared to 1920x1080.

If you're using Halo 3 weapons, then try to get the shaders looking right, a lot of the H3 weapons are too bright and don't match the map at all.

There has always been a realtime viewport, I always use it now for renders. Just had to use shaders.

He means "realistic" setting, in the viewport.

3ds max's new VP in 2012 is much more real then 2011s. Despite 2011 took out 2010s realtime raytracing/hdri reflections, this one is much more powerful. It only works with mental Ray though, I used to have some complex complex shaders using the standard material with over 150 multi-sub slots and 200 subslots per material... oh well :P

As real as I've got.. just simple diffuse, specular, bump, and bump detail...

Can you release one of your really well shadered models sometime because I like improving my knowledge of how to get certain effect and stuff(don't care what model it is just curious about shaders). Also can a texture be made to emit light in 3DS Max?

F<3ck. Nice job dude. Pleeeeease release this. If you're thinkin' H3 weapons, maybe leave out sword and hammer unless they work completely, because so many maps I have seen become ehhh because the developer added in a glitchy looking/acting sword/hammer.

Leave the wraith as is, I like it sorta brighter, matches the elite armour.

Most of the sky is fog tho (cant fog skies in CE). Legit not much else besides these tree planes. We cannot recreate h3's fog no matter how much we want to, there are screen layers/height maps and other bs. Would have to do weird baking in 3ds max to fog the actual sky, then use CE's crappy distance based fog from sky tag, or use the depth based fog planes. Halo 3 has atmospheric fog thats based on the sky itself.

It'd be real awesome you could get this ingame as a .yelo so we can have (close to) Halo 3's graphics and gameplay mechanics such as proper equipment, dual wielding, etc.

Altheros' tagset is better with OS.

uh oh, last time i said that people got all shiflippy... then again people go nuts over everything here at halomaps, but i too would prefer altheros' weapons.

Make sure you have a finished tagset, there were a bunch of missing weapons in H3 Foundry and PR animations sucked :c

I don't care what the weapons look like (as long as they use the retail Halo 3 Assets, you can make the shaders look any way you want), make sure your weapons are properly stated though.

Because when it comes to remakes, an authentic experience is a must.
