All, as long as they're well made.

There's gonna be a lot of "Other"s because you excluded firefight.
I like properly finished Linear Maps the most, a PROPER Firefight (only one qualifies for this up to date), and SP maps with AI that pretend to be players should not be made. It's like putting AI into an MP except now you can't respawn and stuff. One pro- nades on the ground can explode.

I was working on an open world sp map a few months ago. Where you had to plant explosives in vital areas of a covenant ship. I had a majority of the bsps done, such as the engine room, hanger (which was essentially a standard a50 hanger, but the tunnels werent blocked and led multiple ways into the control room, prison cells, engine room & muster)

I may pick up the project again sometime soon. The only problem was tagspace really, since i had most of the areas done. (muster, loading dock, hanger, engine room and control room) and they were ingame. But i still wanted to put the prison cells in, (since there were going to be optional, secondary objectives)

The only issue i really had was motivation and tagspace. Seeing as most of the bsps were quite large, with the spawning bsp taking up 50% of the tagspace and the others taking the rest. The bsps alone took 95% of the tagspace. So other than the player and a few weapons, there wasnt really anything else i could do. :/

I don't prefer any specific style of SP, but my conditions are that the map should be not overwhelmingly or ridiculously hard to complete (i.e spamming 10 zealots at you in one chamber), yet offer a challenge to the player nonetheless. A good Singleplayer must have a central revolving mission and have the player struggle to complete that mission while facing solid resistance from beatable opponents. Also, I don't think the use of a huge amount of custom tags is neccessary, it clutters up the map and dilutes the focus away from the central mission; that's why highly rated maps like Lumoria still use effective classic tags.

Well it depends... I like free-roam (open world) campaigns, as demonstrated by my creating one. However, I'd like you all to stick to making the other types because a lack of competition in that category automatically makes me the best, right? ;D

But yeah, almost any of that category would be fun as long as it were done well.

I like a good linear sp although when playing with a few friends I can appreciate a good MP single payer map. I know the AI don't sync but its nice to be killing things with a friend who doesn't stare at a wall forcing you to do all the work. Firefights- well I have yet to see one that gives me good eye candy and entertainment for more than 10 minutes. Free roam is good too as long as you have enough objectives and an incentive to roam.

Well if by "open world" you mean the 2nd level of Halo 1, then no. I personally like tight geometry. In the 2nd level, it's so big and unpopulated that you feel like it's an empty world. There isn't enough action and I find myself sitting quite often through long boring drives or sitting around waiting for the Covenant to drop off. Halo 2 on the other hand has some nice tight action on my favorite two levels: Gravemind and Uprising.

Yeah, don't you worry firefight fans, just wait for me to come. I'll blast away all of those other maps. And make the coolest firefight up to date. And about the AI acting as players, I'm working on that too.

Whoops, yeah that was bad idea. Although I do expect my map to easily out do most of the CE ones. But Bungie maps, well of course not.

Xonotarus Dave at right;) But that said I think this project can not be done alone, for example at the Actors, you need experience to make the AI intellige enough for a MP mod. This does not happen overnight, and watch out;) does not tell you one mod that may be better than another sp, I want evidence : D

If anyone here actually thinks they'll beat Lumoria in terms of graphics and gameplay then good luck. It isn't hard to beat, but it is the time it takes to make a level and im curious to see how much patience you guys have.

I lol'd

Lumoria didn't have any gameplay features at all. BSP was generic.

Lumoria was just the first SP In CE that actually seemed like a SP.

If people actually wanted to work on a SP level it would be easy to beat, so deflate your big head you got there.

First of all, I said Lumoria could be beaten easily. Second, I also said that I don't think most people here would be able to take the time to make a decent SP level, but if you can, thats great.

And last, take your own advice as you seem to be needing it.

Higuy with his high and mighty attitude, as expected. =/
He must be an only child.

I thought the same thing when I joined the site for the first couple days. However I've begun to feel for him. You all attack him first chance you get. Everything he does is seemingly grounds for a new argument. Yet I saw no arrogance contained in his recent posts.

Frankly, he does have the right to be just a bit higher and possibly a tad mightier than most of you, as it's already been said (by one of his critics, ironically) that Lumoria was the first SP map that actually felt as such.

I'm not normally one to go off-topic, but it needed to be addressed. Please refrain from attempting to childishly one-up the apparent "top-dog" in the future.

He's 15, and he's on his high horse thinking that people have to put in tons of effort to match his crummy SP map. He has supposedly moved on to the Unreal engine because his talent is far surpassing of Halo's limitations.

What is he still doing here? Who knows?

Oh Cereal Killer, when do you think the topic of Sceny's map will be up? :p

Ah yes, still typing that up. He's been debating with me on what exact aspects we're willing to reveal at the current time; or rather, he wants to show it all, I'm hoping to get him to let us be a bit more suspenseful about the specific features I've been able to engineer, which I'm honestly hoping to surprise you guys with. But if he tells me to, I'll write a full description of them :P (he recruited me, after all).

It was intended to see how well you would keep to your word of ignoring me.

L28 wins again. Haha
This forum is hilarious.

Also rewording my first answer. Any map that doesn't spawn 20 elites in one area and give you 0 checkpoints. Those suck

Maybe Lumoria Episode 2 is being shut down as a cover-up. Once they finish it they'll be like "Surprise!!!! Happy New Year's!!!"
