i want a list of maps that i should get. by "should get" i mean maps that ppl play nowadays.

I hear Dennis trotting in the distance with top 100 maps list in hand.

Why bother nobody believes the list even if the basis of it is irrefutable.

Still a good place to start.

Personally I don't care for alot of them, but this guy is asking for the maps people play on!

The only non-stock maps that people play on are rpg_beta6_2 and coldsnap, pretty much nothing else.

That is only because there's so many different version of Halo 3 Bloodgulch to choose from... Its quite ironic, they mainly contain the same tags as each other.

Maps: Coldsnap, CMT Snow Grove, Extinction, Hydrolysis, RPG beta 6, RPG Beta 6.2, Sanctuary Final, Yoyorast Island, Yoyorast Island v2, h2 Turf

true what you say about the voting system,the appreciation of custom seems to have gone out the window.

anyway here's some maps from servers i see...
deltaruins
immure
ambush
cmt snow grove
deserted
sandtrap
h2 zanzibar
no remorse
sanctuary h2

because no one actually plays them on the servers really. It's almost completely dominated by standard maps now and v1.00 is almost completely dominated by standards also as well as... lets just say CERTAIN people that have been known to not buy the game. These certain people being from a certain country that happens to have apparently crappy internet service.

If it is in the played on servers list then at least one person is playing it when the program checks. The first two top 100 lists are based on hard completely refutable data without any bias or subjectivity. The problem is, that is not what are actually asking. What they really want to know is what maps will they find fun to play? Unless you are a mind reader that is not something you can tell them.
