Quote: --- Original message by: ASP GRUNTS I downloaded a modified one from the site, it said it's compatible with 3dsmax 8. I placed it in 3dsMax8/plugins, and also the other dll files into my system32 folder, but when it starts up I get an error saying "Error code: 126 - The specified module could not be found." Does me having windows 7 have to do with anything? Could I be using a bad upload? bump

Are you running win7 64 bit? E: the blitzkrieg that comes with the HEK should already be compatible with max 8. Might be wrong though. Haven't checked in a while. Edited by UnevenElefant5 on Mar 7, 2011 at 07:47 PM

The dlu goes in stdplugs. The 4 other files need to be put in c/windows/syswow64 (its something like that anyway)

I used to get models partially flipped inside out as well, so then I'd have to go back and manually re-flip the faces in max. Plus the non existing errors were annoying as hell. I used to get them around the border of the sky materials.

Quote: --- Original message by: ASP GRUNTS If I export a model with bluestreak and try to compile it, I might get a few open edges. If I export the same model with blitzkrieg, and then try to recompile it, those open edges aren't there anymore. This happened to me quite a few times and is very annoying >< especially with bipeds since I need to use bluestreak for rigged models. Same

You should get 3ds max 8. It is ok to model and uvw in 2010 or w/e , but before you texture it and do smoothing groups, export to max 8 as .3ds. You can then apply materials to it and export for halo. Edited by Maniac1000 on Mar 7, 2011 at 10:20 PM

it means why don't you create a gbx model of your file. make your jms file in tool then type tool model (Directory to model), it will create the gbxmodel file in your \tags\directory to model.

I've been using bluestreak forever, and I realize that at times it seems like it gives you 'random errors'... but seriously, you can fix these. If you're having biped collision problems, remember that collision does not support the skin modifier or vertex weights. You would have to rig collision out of boxy objects for your biped's limbs. BlueStreak was meant for characters and vehicles, non map projects.
Me and a team of people are currently working on a new exporter for maps for 3ds max 2011.
^I do agree with uneven and the above users^
While working on H2SPT bsp's the info for the map files were massive as you all are aware. Tool would display errors that to my best of knowledge were none.
To test this I later saved my project and restarted my pc,later exported with Bluestreak and the errors were no longer present, but then pick other areas of the map to error up.
Say me and some other people not indigenous to these forms are trying to make a better exporter for 3ds max 2011.
It may be a maxscript or a plugin,If I can get sufficent speed in the max script this will be most likely our project.

I dont know if it makes life easier or not, but what i meant was this. Make the gbx model from the max 2010 model. Use gbx model importer to get the max10 model (new gbx_model) back into max 8. Do whatever you have to do to get the collision working.
