Can gmax open a 3ds file for editing?
EDIT: I guess I'll take the silence as a no. Edited by Xoronatus on Jan 31, 2011 at 05:50 PM

I guess I'll answer it. If I recall, gmax can open a .3ds file, just not a .max. If you can't, ask a person nicely if they can export it in .obj or .gmax for you.
EDIT: Just checked, yes, gmax can import .3ds files. To do that, go to 'File>import' then select your file. Edited by cheater101 on Jan 31, 2011 at 07:04 PM

Oh, yeah, I was using "open," not import.
